GHOSTBUSTERS-Themed Haunted House Announced For Halloween Horror Nights

Slimer, Gozer the Gozerian, & the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man will make their presence felt at Universal's Halloween Horror Nights, but will there be a scene more horrific than cats and dogs living together?

Halloween Horror Nights guests will find themselves having to choose the form of their destructor this year, as Universal Studios announced a Ghostbusters-themed haunted house. While Ghostbusters isn't exactly known for its scary moments, the supernatural elements make the film an intriguing premise for a themed house.

Universal notes that the house will be inspired by the original 1984 film – not the 1989 sequel, the Paul Feig reboot, or the upcoming Reitman-helmed sequel – with guests able to walk through iconic scenes such as the New York Public Library, the Temple of Gozer, and more.

Along the way, guests will come face-to-face with some of the movie's iconic paranormal creatures, including Slimer, Gozer the Gozerian, the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man, and more. The promo image for the house also shows the Terror Dogs.

In this haunted house, you’ll be transported to the streets of New York as the rift between worlds opens, releasing ghoulish spirits, hideous specters and ectoplasm-dripping phantasms in every shape and size. Come face-to-face with the voracious Slimer, the all-power Gozer the Gozerian, Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man and more.

Peter, Ray, Egon and Winston will have to save the day as these paranormal creatures materialize in unexpected places – but will their proton packs be enough?

It doesn't sound like the Ghostbusters house will actually try to scare guests (tooo much), but instead celebrate the film's 35th anniversary.

In addition to Ghostbusters, Universal Studios also announced the return of a Stranger Things house which will be inspired by seasons two and three of the Netflix show. Both houses will be present in Universal Studios Orlando and Universal Studios Hollywood.

Halloween Horror Nights runs from September 6 through November 2.

@AnthonyVonGeek - Nice! I went to college at UCF. I'm more of a Disney family, but I did have Universal annual passes for a year as a change of pace. Debating moving back up there, but it's so crowded and I4 is the worst highway ever.

My roommate and I have been going to this now for a few years. I just started but I love love love it. Last years Poltergeist house blew me away. If you have the means to go, go. It’s something special
