New GHOSTBUSTERS: AFTERLIFE Poster Spotlights The Next Generation Of Spook-Hunters

Director Jason Reitman has taken to social media to share a pair of new posters for Ghostbusters: Afterlife, which will serve as a sequel to the original movies.

The most recent trailer teased Ray's (Dan Aykroyd) appearance right at the end and some action figures gave us an idea of how the classic trio of spook-hunters will be depicted, but we've yet to see them in the flesh. Sony Pictures will likely keep that big reveal for the movie, and these latest one-sheets once again focuses on the next generation of Ghostbusters as they witness some kind of supernatural occurrence in the sky.

Full reviews are still embargoed, but Afterlife screened at CinemaCon last month, and the first social media reactions were mostly very positive.

From director Jason Reitman and producer Ivan Reitman, comes the next chapter in the original Ghostbusters universe. In Ghostbusters: Afterlife, when a single mom and her two kids arrive in a small town, they begin to discover their connection to the original ghostbusters and the secret legacy their grandfather left behind.

Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, and Annie Potts have all been confirmed to reprise their roles from the original movies, and they'll be joined by Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Carrie Coon (Fargo), Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things) and Mckenna Grace (Captain Marvel).

Ghostbusters: Afterlife is currently set to blast into theaters on November 11, 2021.

I’m guessing, left-to-right, Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, Logan Kim, Celeste O’Connor, McKenna Grace, and Paul Rudd?

@santoanderson - Weird they'd have Carrie with her back to us on one poster, but then gone from the one where the faces are shown.

I'm ready. Give it to me!!! I've dusted off my child hood proton pack, put on new adult sized shoulder straps.... sure it looks like I'm wearing a mini pack back because I'm 6'3 and 300+ pounds wearing an elementary school kids toy from 40 years ago.... but LETS [frick]ING GO!!!

I wonder if Ecto 1 reached out to the millennium Falcon for any tips when doing a nostalgic money grab project?

The premise for this makes sense and provides continuity to the next chapter and new adventures. Hopefully it will make me forget that last film.

Interesting. I think in '84 Ghostbusters Gozer was mentioned to be an Assyro-Hittite deity. In Hittite, Ugaritic, and other Near Eastern mythology gods could be killed and sent to a chthonic underworld, sort of like the Titans in Tartarus . Maybe Egon was guarding a gateway underworld there. Go Egon!

I’m excited for this movie. My only nitpick on what I see is the idea of kids taking over the ghostbusters team… I can understand one kid being a part of the team but a whole ghostbusters team full of kids doesn’t exactly seem legit as the original team consists of adults/ possibly college students. Who would let or hire kids to use nuclear power packs as weapons?
But yeah I still think it could’ve been cool to have a comedy group like Seth Rogers crew or broken lizard type group take over as ghostbusters.

So they all just drop out of schoool and become full-time Ghostbusters?
