The Incredible Hulk (the sequel/requel to Ang Lee's film) will be a 2008 release with production beginning in the second quarter of next year, Marvel says. That'll make it the second super-hero film slated for that year from the House of Ideas. Iron Man comes out that year as well.

The Iron Man film, directed by Jon Favreau, is the first movie Marvel Studios is doing completely on its own. It comes out May 2, 2008.

Marvel released financial information on its publishing, toy and movie business lines during a second quarter earnings call recently. You can check out its presentation here.

The latest issue of Time Magazine speculates that Marvel may be prettying itself to be bought out, perhaps by Paramount. The article details the comic book and entertainment company's long rocky road to financial success since the early 1990s.
