'Iron Man 2' Star Mickey Rourke 'Had No Idea What Was Going On In The Movie'

That's right, Rourke didn't know what was happening. Take the jump to find out his reason...

Everyone now knows of the secret ending of "Iron Man 2." Everyone that is, except for the film's lead villain Whiplash, played by Mickey Rourke. Rourke claims he hasn't even seen "Iron Man 2" yet.

"I have no idea," he told MTV's Josh Horowitz when asked about rumors of the secret "Iron Man" scene. "I haven't seen the film."

But I'm sure the actor knew what the rest of "Iron Man 2" was about while shooting the film.

Guess what, that's the case, according to Rourke!

"If you want me to be honest with you, I've only read my part," he confessed. "I had no idea what was going on in the movie, really."

Rourke said it didn't really matter to him what was going on in "Iron Man 2" outside of his scenes as Whiplash. Given the character's status as the film's central villain, it is safe to assume Rourke knew a good deal about the movie's major action scenes, or at the very least, the Monaco Grand Prix sequence.

But Rourke's decision to focus solely on his own role extends beyond "Iron Man 2." According to the actor, he demonstrated a similar practice on another recent movie.

"I just did a movie with Megan Fox and I have no idea what's going on!" he declared.

-PHOENIX:
I didn't believe it the first time I saw this. But then again Hugo Weaving hasn't seen Transformers yet either.
Rourke isn't really making any friends in my book...

On the contrary, I like him a lot, i even said so yesterday on another article that I am glad to see him and Downey making a comeback. I think Rourke is one of the most underrated actors out there. It's just that recently, he has been doing things that get under my skin. I just think an actor should take pride in their work, and want to observe the entire process, rather than jsut the part they are associated with.

if he turns in a great performance i don't understand why any of his methods should bother you and/or get under your skin. who's to say he doesn't take pride in his work? again, even if he doesn't and turns in a great performance and doesn't take anything away from the movie... then who cares if he doesn't take pride?

I miss the humble Rourke who thanked his dogs for giving him a reason to live. His work is commendable, but I'd hate to see him fall back into his old narcissism.

IronClad- What i think PHEONIX means is that there's no question that we appreciate his art, but Rourke does things that makes it hard to appreciate the artist. It takes nothing away from his talent, just our perception of him. As a person/artist, he doesn't "need" to improve but it wouldn't be a kick in the nutts either, ya know? I personally enjoy being a fan of the artist as well as his talent. It's why i'll never be a fan of Bale no matter which stellar performance he brings, until he works on himself. But i'm a Hugh Jackman fan all the freakin' way, no what i mean? Rourke hasn't done anything that would make "my" skin crawl yet but his attitude and habits make alot of women's skin crawl. I understand your point, but i certainly get what PHEONIX is saying here.

I hope he is just high as Mskyle08 stated. :P
As for his face, he took up boxing after he stopped making movies and he really got his face mashed up. he then underwent plastic surgery to get it right, but that made him look plasticy.

@Gaston: I agree, man. I mean, he went there to make money, not friends. He's a method actor. Acting is his life. Also: No one's slick as Gaston. No one's quick as Gaston. No one's neck's as incredibly thick as Gaston's....

Whats wrong with that?
I am the most quit and most goodest kid in skool. Good grades, perfect attendence, and perfect student. Thats why im not here all the time except in the afternoons. I dont talk to no one and thats the reason for my success. Im not there for friends, im there to do a perfect job and thats it. people outside of skool is my friends and thats not many. If I wasnt the quiet good kid (except if I get [frick]ed with) I would be partying with my classmates and watch the girls strip while teachers are gone. My skool is wild but im the only good student
