Top 3 Major Loose Ends of the MCU Everyone Forgot About

With Phase 5 of the MCU in full-swing, let's take a look back at 3 unresolved plot points from previous phases that Kevin Feige and company seem to have forgotten about.....and how they could come back around.

With Phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in full-swing (opinions aside, please) and Guardians of the Galaxy about to release, I felt it would be the right time to discuss a topic that I don't see brought up often: loose ends that have yet to be addressed. And not recent stuff like Sharon Carter as the Power Broker (despite Sharon not being listed as returning for Captain America: New World Order yet). No, I'm going after 3 character-related plot points from Phases 3 and 2 that Marvel seems to not want to get around to addressing in order from most likely to be resolved sooner or later to "who the heck knows?".

Number 3- Spider-Man Far From Home/No Way Home: The Renegade Stark Industries Scientists

If you recall, Quenten Beck was revealed as a liar and fraud in Far From Home out to make himself "The new Iron Man" out of jealousy of getting fired from Stark Industries for being unstable (given his later actions, where is the lie in that accusation?) However, Beck wasn't working alone. He had a small team of former Stark Industries technitions aiding him, including William Riva, the poor guy who infamously got screamed at by Obidiah Stane all the way back in the first Iron Man movie. This team not ony helped him put together the illusions making Beck look like a hero, but also got away scott-free after Beck's death and presumably were the ones who leaked the faked tape framing Peter for everything to the Daily Bugle. And yet, despite No Way Home closing off the Mysterio storyline via memory wipe, these scientists are still at large.

Now admitedly, this could be because Peter (and by extention Nick Fury and Talos) didn't know that Beck had help so they couldn't do anything about them. But it's honestly quite surprsing that No Way Home didn't bring this plot point up mid-credits, opting in favor of a shoe-horned in Venom cameo (a result of Sony's meddling with the Spider-Man rights to try and affect the MCU in small ways like with Morbius, but that's another story). It's more than likely Armor Wars we could see Riva and company again, but given rumors of shifing plot details on that miniseries-turned-movie, who knows?

Number 2- Doctor Strange: Mordo and His Anti-Sorcerer Crusade

The last we saw Baron Mordo, he had left in a huff after getting his rigid beliefs shaken due to Strange's use of the Time Stone and other matters, calling it a "desecration of reality" (dude really doesn't get how the universe works in these movies, does he?). Post-Credits, he then took his distrust to full-on trechary by attacking a minor character from earlier and stealing his magic, saying there are "too many sorcerers" and basically declaring war on Strange and all who wielded magic.

And in the time between then and both before and after The Blip, Strange seems to have done nothing about this matter.

Doc, we know you're busy, but your former mentor's freely going around causing trouble for you and the rest of those who weild the Mystic Arts. You aren't going to do something about this? Heck, even Wong, who has taken over as Sorcerer Supreme, seemingly hasn't even bothered to go after Mordo! Really, guys?

Admitedly, this WAS going to get addressed last year. Origianlly, Multiverse of Madness was originally going to have a scene whre Mordo show up to try and kill Wanda, only for Wanda to kill him instead prior to Strange visiting her. However, that scene was cut (no word on if it was really filmed yet or not), and we only saw a variant of Mordo later in the movie; main universe Mordo's mentioned, but his whearabouts are unknown. To be fair, I completely get it. Mordo's threat was a major plot point in the first movie and to have it resolved so anti-climatically like that without Strange even getting to face him again was frankly insulting. Here's hoping the rumored third movie finally brings this thread to a close. Which is more than i can say for the number 1 spot.....

Number 1- Ant-Man: The Yellowjacket Particles and The Hydra Agent That Got Away

I saved this for last because this is a plot point that REALLY frustrates me with how Marvel seems to be ignoring it, despite addressing it previously! For those who don't remember, during the climax, Darren Cross was going to seel the Yellowjacket prototype and particles to former SHIELD head of defense and outed Hydra agent Mitchell Carson. However, Scott and Hank's heist (and subsequent destruction of Pym Technologies) foiled that, though Carson escaped with the Yellowjacket partilces in hand.

And despite Peyton Reed and Kevin Feige promising it'd get followed up on, we've seen no updates as to what has become of the unstable formula and it's owner in nearly 10 years.

Reed originally said that Carson would've been stopped by Scott orignally and the particles reclaimed, but it was written out. So why wasn't this followed up on in Ant-Man and the Wasp? Quantumania was never going to address it (for obvious reasons named Kang), so what's going on? Why change a plot point like this if it wasn't planned to be followed up? None of the future projects going forward seem to indicate Carson or the particles returning so.....did Kevin and Reed forget that whole thing? Or did something get changed that we don't know about? I'd rather not wait as long as we did getting Betty Ross to finally return for this to be addressed!

Was there any mistakes I made or loose ends I missed? Please let me know in the comments!
