Thank you, CBM!

I just wanted to take the time to thank the CBM Admin/Editors for their hard work in running my favorite website.

I want to thank the CBM Admin/Editors for the hard work they do in running this website. There are many different things I am thankful for.

Keeping the Website Civil

I have never found a administrative team that works as hard as the CBM Admin/Editors at keeping things civil on a website.

Here are a few things that I have noticed:
1) They censor harsh language in chat and comments.
2) They have banned several people that have stirred up trouble. It is worth noting that they have been unbiased in doing so. I have seen many users that were deemed "untouchable" by the CBM community banned. I have also seen some of these banned ones earn their way back into the CBM community, which shows that that the CBM Admin/Editors believe in giving people second chances. I like that... it's fair.
3) They brought in the Hall of Shame. Now I know the Hall of Shame has been abused from the start. However, that does not take away from it's original purpose, which is to expose the CBM users that are "trouble makers".

The Website is User Driven

One of my favorite things about this website is that the users have a great deal of control. There are many ways that this is shown. To name a few...

1) We can all have a Fansite of our own! We have the opportunity to contribute with News, Fan Fiction, Editorials, etc...
2) When the Website was being redesigned, the CBM Admin/Editors came up with several new designs. Then it was put to a user vote to decide which one was the best.
3) The latest addition to the website is my favorite bit of user control yet. There has been an ongoing debate as to what should make the main page or not. This has been the debate since I started coming to this website. Now there is no need for that debate. Now we have the chance to decide what makes the main page. All we have to do is give the thumbs up to an article. Once enough of us has done so, the article automatically moves to the main page. THAT'S FREAKING SWEET!

Always Keeping us up to Date on the Latest CBM News

This is what I am most thankful for. The CBM Admin/Editors don't miss a beat. They keep us up to date on all CBM related news. There are many even, that CBM news hits this website before it hits anywhere else.

So, those are just some things that I am thankful for. I invite all of my fellow CBM users to comment on what they are thankful for from this awesome website.

I'm on this site throughout the day. It's one of the first and last things I check before my slumber.

I'm not attempting to butter anybody up here but I'm diggin the changes made recently. There is the occassion where the discussion on an awesome article gets hijacked by shoddy arguement and mud slinging but it's great to see such differing opinion from, mostly, like-minded people.

I posted an editorial about what I collected and dropped in the new 52 and to see the calibre of differing, but interesting, comments helped me relook at what I was, and wasn't, buying.

There is no other place, I feel, I can do this with ease. Put out my opinion, on MY own platform and see what people have to say on it...good or bad.

I know very few people who collected comics or enjoy CBM's (or who admit to it at least) so this site has given me that outlet to share my passion without feeling out of place *sheds a tear*

Hats off to, not just the creators but, all who frequent the site. The creators have/are done/doing a great and selfless job. I'm sure Xandera's words echo through the article sections.

p.s. and to the unsung hero of the comments section...TEA!

Thanks a mill Xandera, nice to hear that. At first glance I thought thsi was gonna be a sarcastic article and that it said "Thank you for RUINING my favorite website"..which I admit gave me a giggle:)

Agreed Xandera! I don't post on here often but I visit here daily, and always enjoy the recently released news and member feedback. The admins have done a great job with this site. Way to go by giving them the thanks they deserve!

I was a newbie who didn't "get it". You'll see from the 'computer says no' article on my fansite. Although I had been visiting the site for a year prior, when I finally signed up and wrote the article I wasn't aware of the intricacies of running this site. I stood corrected.

I guess that if it was just a love-in and there was no negativity then it would be a pretty fluffy place to visit...and that isn't how fanboys role as we know.

I also spend alot of time on this site and always think the editors/admin are fantastic. I am grateful that I can post an article and get feedback or be able to share ideas or opinions on some of my favourite subjects.

this site is great and I love that we can write our own articles and able to comment. I dont know why I dont have this site as my home page, im on it more then anything else, well im on your mom more then anything, but thats besides the point

but I do miss alot of the old members that have vanished they need to be tracked down and dragged back here kicking and screaming

What? They are lenient on the matter. There really should be a zero tolerance on personal attacks. Hating characters or companies is fine, but personal attacks should be unacceptable IMO. Secondly, there so much polarity. Even this article is all praise. Love-fest/Hate-fest. Too much hyperbole.

I would like to thank the admins for the site's existence and improvements. My biggest thanks goes out to all the contributors and editors who scour the web for news, even when they are debunked :P

I check in almost daily on the site and enjoy it, but I have to agree with redleaf, this is not that civil of a site. Perhaps it isn't bad as some others out there, but I don't really don't go to other sites so I don't know. All I know it is less civil than when I joined a couple years ago and I have gotten tired of the disrespect between posters here and have thought about hanging it up more than once. Kind of riding it out right now to see if it continues or not. It used to be when posters disagreed here they would still respect the other. Now the personal attacks and name-calling is a regular occurrence. I quit SHH cold turkey because there was hardly any of it going on here. I'm hoping things do get better in that category. Otherwise, I am cool with everything...other than the occasional over-sensationalized and misleading article titles and descriptions, but I can live with that. :-P
