Punisher: War Zone Review

This is one of the most violent movies of 2008. Besides Saw V and Rambo 4, this movie had the craziest deaths and was funny as hell. If you have a fairly decent idea of the Punisher, you know he's ruthless and will destroy any kind of evil in his own special way.

I had hoped for more action and shoot'em up, but I believe the beginning and end sequences of the movie pretty much ran up all the budget, and Lexi ran out of actors and stunt doubles casted as the goons.

But basically I liked the acting and the story. Frank Castle played by Ray Stevenson was great. Ray Stevenson's portrayal of the Punisher is a lot more like the image from the comic. Its AMAZING, It feels almost as if Lexi Alexander read the Punisher comic novel and gave birth to a perfect actor who can play the Punisher in her gruesomely violent action movie.

Putting aside the violence and action, Lexi adds more into the characters. Frank Castle is a man who lost everything and becomes completely ruthless, but Lexi alters the story a little bit. She opens up the kindhearted side of Frank -- his softness to the innocenct. And because of the overboard humorous brotherhood between Jigsaw and his Psycho brother, Looney Bin Jim.

But in general the story was decent and I liked all the violence and humor. I'm a huge fan of the Punisher, so I'll give this movie and the work of Lexi Alexander, Ray Stevenson and Dominic West, a (9 out of 10)

AND THERE BETTER BE A SEQUEL!

I haven't seen it yet. By the time I was able to get to the theaters to see it, it had already been pulled. Can't wait for the DVD though. Alot of people said it sucked, but idc, I'll buy the DVD anyway. I love all comics, especially Marvel.

Did we watch the same film?! Lexi Alexander's 'Punisher: War Zone' was SUCH a waste of my time and money, I'm half tempted to start a classs-action suit against her to collect damages for the effort I wasted seeing this film! I haven't felt this much disappointment and violation watching a film since I saw 'House of a Thousand Corpses'! Lexi - honey... sweetie... do us all a favor and go back to playing Princess Kitana in the travelling 'Mortal Kombat' show (it's obvious 'Green Street Hooligans' was a fluke)!

I HAD TWO PROBLEMS WITH THE NEW PUNISHER MOVIE.
1- I couldn't imagine it was happening today.
2- Ray Stevenson just doesn't beat Thomas Jane. He does look like the kind of guy that can take out a superpowered villain. The real Punisher strikes fear in the mind of every criminal. I didn't feel that as much as in the first movie

this movie was more true to the source material than any of the other Marvel movies. I can't understand the problem everybody has with it. Ray Stevenson pulled off the Punisher in a way Thomas Jane just couldn't do. I loved the gore and I realize a sequel is pretty much out of the queston, but I hope we see another incantaion I'd love to see Tarintino take a shot at it.
