Last month, it was officially confirmed that another Matrix movie is development and that original co-director Lana Wachowski will return to take the helm of this fourth instalment.

Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss will also reprise their respective roles, while the movie is looking to cast a younger version of Morpheus (who it's widely believed will be played by Black Panther star Michael B. Jordan). Now, Reeves has admitted that he's "absolutely" excited to return as Neo.

"It's very ambitious," Reeves told Entertainment Tonight. "As it should be!"

He wouldn't reveal anything beyond that, but it's obviously going to be very exciting to discover how The Matrix 4 plays out, especially as that third chapter has a pretty definitive conclusion.

Reeves is currently on something of a roll career-wise, but based on how critics reacted to The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions, you have to hope that this doesn't hurt him in any way. However, with rumours swirling that he'll join the MCU, something tells us he'll be absolutely fine!

Im on board with the Watchowkis directing.....it's just I wish they weren't writing the thing !. The first one was a classic and one of the my favourite movies of all time....but the sequels were very disappointing.

It's obvious the Watchowskis had no idea how huge a hit the first one would be ….they certainly didn't realise it would be a landmark sci-fi that would be a cult classic and a worldwide genre redefining phenomenom ! My point is I don't think they had any real plans (in the beginning) for a sequel.

They decided the sequels would be less story and more action. The action scenes were fvkin incredible ….but the story is what made the first one work so well.

My advise to the Watchowskis - get a different writer !

For me...it's really just when that first teaser hits for Matrix 4. Sort of like seeing Han/Chewie back in the Falcon for TFA. Neo in the shades. That should break the internet for a day.

If anyone can explain the "definitive conclusion" that would be great thanks.

Michael B Jordan looks nothing like Fishburne, how could he play young Morpheus? Just because they are both black we should pretend that they don't look completely different?
