This new "Fly" TV spot for Star Trek Beyond opens with Mr. Sulu (a character who's been in the news quite a bit lately) assuring his captain that he's perfectly capable of flying an unfamiliar vessel. From there we get a few brief snippets of new footage, before a funny exchange between Kirk and Bones right at the end reminds us of the great chemistry between Chris Pine and Karl Urban.

The new Trek movie will be with us very soon - are you guys excited to return to the final frontier?

After stopping off at Starbase Earhart, a remote outpost on the fringes of Federation space, the USS Enterprise, halfway into their five-year mission, is destroyed by a powerful, unstoppable wave of unknown aliens. With the crew stranded on a unknown planet and with no apparent means of rescue, they find themselves in conflict with a new ruthless enemy who has a well-earned hatred of the Federation and what it stands for.

Star Trek Beyond reunites Jon Cho, Simon Pegg, Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoë Saldana, Karl Urban and Anton Yelchin, with Idris Elba, Sofia Boutella, Lydia Wilson, Shohreh Aghdashloo and Joe Taslim joining the cast.

The movie hits theaters on 22nd July, 2016.

@Menks123 - Same,... although I do remember watching the one with professor Xavier in space. It was disappointing never seeing jar jar binks show up though.

They have done a good job at making these new Trek films feel current. The actor/actress they got fit the bill IMO.

The first film was a great way to bring new fans to the franchise. But with Into Darkness and by the looks of it with Beyond, they are taking Star Trek in the wrong direction IMO.

The studio should have aimed more towards more high-brow sci-fi films like Interstellar instead of taking the easy cash grab 'flavour of the moment' films like GotG and Fast and Furious.

There's a lot of interesting developments in our understanding of the cosmos happening now and in the near future... something this franchise could have capitalised on.
