Fast & Furious and True Detective helmer Justin Lin is set to go to a Galaxy Far, Far Away (wait, wrong franchise) with Star Trek 3, and he's now taken to Twitter to reveal both the official title of the movie and the first set photo. Hit the jump to check it out...

As expected, Star Trek 3 will indeed be titled Star Trek Beyond. Like Star Trek Into Darkness, there's no colon there, but it works! Director Justin Lin accompanied that announcement with the first official set photo, and we'll no doubt hear more about the movie - which is being co-written by star Simon Pegg - in the coming weeks and months. What do you guys think of this title for the movie?

@JamesMann Whoa, nice find. That's exactly the type of scene that I wanted to see in DoFP - some sort of reference to their relationship from First Class. There seems to be a LOT that was edited from the movie, even without all the Rogue stuff.

Not a fan of the title at all but I am excited. Lin is new and will bring a refreshing take on star trek. And idris elba!!!!! Yes. Sofia boutella!!!
