Making of Star Trek Into Darkness by itsartmag

When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organisation has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis. With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction. As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.

STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS was directed by J.J. Abrams ("Super 8"), from a screenplay written by Damon Lindelof, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. Returning for the sequel are Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, John Cho, Bruce Greenwood, Simon Pegg, Zoë Saldana, and Anton Yelchin. Joined by new cast members Benedict Cumberbatch, Alice Eve and Peter Weller.

Little cgi. Atta boy Abrams, you're learning from Lucas' mistakes. Can't wait for star wars episode 7, AoU, and Man of Steel 2.

Star Trek was okay, but goddamn was it a stupid science film.

1.) How the [frick] was Kirk able to talk to Scottie from another galaxy? What are the reception on those things? What's connecting the them? WTF?!

@CavEl It was a science fiction film not a science film. Also Kirk was not in another Galaxy but another star system which is a HUGE difference. They obviously don't take the time to explain how the technology works as they are making a dramatic film.

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 ummm wtf? The force, light sabers, hyperspace, oh and a little thing called physics. News flash both are called science FICTION for a reason.

I'm talking about the film technique, not the actual movie...

CavEl - in Star Trek they use a sub-space channel, the messages arrive faster than light.

@ victorhugo - Sound can't travel faster than light, it's not possible. And even if it was traveling faster than light, also not possible as light is the fastest thing in the universe, it wouldn't be a telephone call. More like the pony express.

@ Ichaos - no matter where in the universe they were, sound can't travel that fast to make a phone call. Anyway, as far as being in a different star system, it does make a huge difference, but not by much. Our closest star system is 4 light years away, doesn't help your case. I know it is a movie and things shouldn't be taken to heart, but Star Trek is supposed to be Science Possibility, not Science improbability.

Cavel this is not merely "sound", it´s information teleported at warp speed.

It´s small potatoes for the Star Trek technology.

You should watch Star Trek from the beginning, not jump into its 700th filmed hour and question something as basic.
