Thor: The Dark World director Alan Taylor will reboot the Terminator franchise with Terminator: Genisys, a movie which is set to be released next July. Arnold Schwarzenegger returns as the now aged T-800, while Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke will play Sarah Connor. Joining them are Jai Courtney (Jack Reacher) as Kyle Reese and Jason Clarke (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) as John Connor. It was always the plan for this movie to be the first in a trilogy, and Paramount Pictures have announced today that Terminator 2 will be released on May 19th, 2017 and that a third will follow shortly after on June 29th, 2018. With only a year between them, the plan must be to shoot the second and third movies back to back. As of right now, there's no word on whether Taylor is committed to these two and what role the cast members listed above will play. How do you guys feel about this news? Rulk, I think Taylor got screwed by Disney/Marvel with Thor 2...from his interviews, seems like a lot was cut...needed more Malekith, less Darcy and it could have been much better...

I was raised on T2. There will never be another Terminator 2 as far as I'm concerned.

I don't think Taylor was the problem with Thor: The Dark World. I, for one, am excited for Genisys, and if it rocks, I'll be excited for the next two as well.

Thor 2 wasnt great because Marvel wants a sci-fi-almost epic-comedy.

The script wasnt as impressive, and it had too much comedy and not enough epicness. Just the first scene of Thor is a joke, destroying that giant like a comedy moment. pathetic.

Thor movies need a real Game of thrones/Lord of the rings vibe. but MArvel doesnt care about that quality. Thats the truth.

But directors arent the problem, both Keneth and Alan are very talented, the problem is Mervel's style and formula.

Thor TDW screamed studio interference. I wouldnt put all the blame on Taylor for that.

That being said, I hope this movie brings the terminator franchise back on track.

Thor 3 will only be good when they kill of Jane, Darcy and Eric.
