Rumor: TERMINATOR: GENESIS Recasting T1 & T2, Recreating The Events From Time Traveler's Perspective

Rumors suggest that the film will revisit the past in the style of Back to the Future: Part II. A casting sheet may give weight to these rumors. Emilia Clarke describes Sarah Connor training.

Firstly, we will indeed be revisiting the events of the original 1984 film again. The ‘Terminator’ from the future will arrive on earth, attack some punks (keen to see who they get to play ‘Bill Paxton’), and then slaughter his way through a bunch of Sarah Connors’ – until he finds the correct target. And all the characters that appeared in the Cameron original, like Detective Hal Vukovich (played by Lance Henriksen in the original), Lieutenant Ed Traxler (played by Paul Winfield way back when), Sarah’s roomie Ginger (Bess Motta in the ’84 film) and, yep, even Pugsley the Iguana, return. So, yep, we’ll likely get to see Schwarzenegger back in the leather jacket and cool sunglasses he wore in the original. And, of course, Kyle Reese (Courtney) volunteers to go back to 1984 and save Sarah – just as he did first time around. But don’t expect everything to work out like it did in the original.. something is going to play out different.

And then, we’ll also be taken back to the events of the sequel. The scene where the T-1000 (played by Robert Patrick in “Terminator 2 : Judgement Day”), posing as a cop, visiting John Connor’s home, where he meets – and consequently kills – foster parents Todd (Xander Berkeley) and Janelle (Jenette Goldstein), is in there. As are several other key moments.

And then we’ll be going back to moments we haven’t seen on film before – such as scenes with young Sarah and her parents.

We know Arnold Schwarzenegger is returning, could Robert Patrick be back also? Or will he be recast (Jake La Botz might be available), along with Linda Hamilton and Michael Biehn?

An online casting call could add more evidence to this story.

We are submitting experienced SAG-AFTRA or SAG eligible actors to audition for the following roles (NOTE: There is nudity in this project.):
[DETECTIVE HARDING / DETECTIVE TIMMONS] Male; 40 -50 years old; any ethnicity.
[AGENT JANSSEN AND BURKE] Male; 30-40s; Caucasian; lithe and athletic.
[8 YEAR OLD KID] Male; Caucasian; 8-10 years old
[12 YEAR OLD KID] Male; Caucasian; 11-13 years old
[18 YEAR OLD] Male; Caucasian; 18-20 years old
[LT.WHITLEY] Female; late 20s-30s; soldier
[DAD] Male; late 30s-early 40s; Caucasian
[MOM] Female; late 30s-early 40s; Caucasian; Irish. If not Irish, must speak with an Irish accent.
[SECURITY GUARD] Male; 40s; any ethnicity
[ER RESIDENT] Male; late 20s; any ethnicity
[LEAD COP] Male; 40s; any ethnicity
[UNIFORM COP] Male; 20s; any ethnicity; rookie cop
[GARBER] Male; 50s; cop.
[DERELICT] Male; 40-50 years old; any ethnicity
[ANGRY DRIVER] Male; 30-40s; from the south
[PUNK] Male; 18-early-20s; 80s punk.

Note that the last role is specifically for an "80s punk". In the original Terminator, Arnold's T-800 runs into punks played by Bill Paxton, Brad Rearden and Shao Kahn himself, Brian Thompson.

The role also calls for an Irish mother and father. Perhaps Sarah's parents? Her name is Connor after all.

Emilia Clarke also commented on the film, telling inStyle UK..

“I’ve been spending all day every day, in weapons training. I’ve been shooting guns, weightlifting, kickboxing and generally kicking a lot of ass"

This certainly sounds like the Sarah Connor of T2. The character goes through major changes between The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day. It would certainly be a challenge to play out those physical and emotional changes in one film.

Also a challenge, recreating those scenes from a new perspective. Will we be seeing the attack on the police station or CyberDyne from the POV of another T-800 or perhaps an adult John Connor? It's certainly an interesting idea.

the fact that the third film was set in 2003 instead of 199(what ever) makes it an alternate time line,so its going to have ANOTHER alternate time line lol stupid

@niklander In an article on the frontpage, Jai Courtney talks about, "running around with Arnie". You may get your wish depending on how he meant it.

I have faith in this movie, and only because I love T1 and T2. I really hope they get it right this time and rectify the two shits that are Rise and Salvation, even though technically they are recycling the franchise with this film.

Yea but everytime something happens it creates an alternate timeline rendering all movies/ tv shows no longer existent. Is there going to be a new tv show too?

i really loved the tone of terminator salvation and the whole post judgement day setting, but the plot of the movie was shit despite solid performances by the main characters not including sam worthingtons stale monotone delivery and lack of range.
yet i still would have preferred the 80's look of the future from the first film flash back/forward moments as told to sarah conner by kyle reese.
this new story in my opinion would only work if all the principle cast from the original films were still alive/young enough to reprise their own roles. sadly i fear this movie will not be able to deliver because of recasting and so many years having passed. if only time travel were real, and utilized only for mega hollywood productions.

Guys, it never was Confirmed that Arnie in fact plays Terminator? All I've read and hear is everyone talking about Arnie returns to a franchise but never mentioned that he is robot. Maybe he plays human in the future.

What you guys think?

this sounds more like they have only half a script and couldnt figure anything else out, so they just wrote in things that already happened.
This is like a crap rapper using a song from the 80's, they just change the words but the music is exactly the same and they call it "new"

The James Cameron post-apocalyptic setting would of been awesome, I would of figured they would have gone down that route, but noooo...something had to happen differently in the timeline, and there had to be a certain cyborg involved.
