Sin City: A Dame to Kill For weaves together two of Frank Miller’s classic stories with new tales in which the town’s most hard boiled citizens cross paths with some of its more repulsive inhabitants. In Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, Dwight is hunted down by the only woman he ever loved, Ava Lord, and then watches his life go straight to hell. Chronologically, this story takes place prior to “The Big Fat Kill” (featured in the film Frank Miller’s Sin City) and explains how Dwight came to have a dramatically different face.

Sin City: A Dame To Kill For stars Mickey Rourke as Marv, Jessica Alba as Nancy, Bruce Willis as Hartigan, Rosario Dawson as Gail and Jaime King as Goldie/Wendy. New cast members include: Eva Green as Ava Lord, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Johnny, Dennis Haysbert as Manute, Christopher Meloni as Mort, Jeremy Piven as Bob, Stacy Keach as Wallenquist, Jamie Chung as Miho, Ray Liotta as Joey, Juno Temple as Sally, Julia Garner as Marcy, and Josh Brolin as Dwight. The film arrives on August 22nd.

Pretty annoying that Aoki can't be in this. She made a great Miho. Glad Whedon hasn't followed suit r.e. Scarlett Johanssen's pregnancy.

Man, I was so INTO Sin City in 2005. I got into Chuck Taylors (even got a red pair) for the first time, even though they weren't my style before. It was so larger than life, pulpy, hard-boiled, and it had me loving Clive Owen (who before, I didn't know anything about).

Fast forward 9 years, and I just don't care. I want to like it, but it looks cheap. Like, what happened Robert? You were my hero back then, now it looks like a straight-to-dvd sequel (AND prequel, but you know...), reminds me of 'Rise of an Empire', only that actually looked BETTER.

Joseph Gordon Levitt did noir in 'Brick', so I'm not in the least bit doubting him... I just hope the original story they stick him with is any good.

I'm not a fan of the recasts either. It's also what makes it feel different. I know they're clearly necessary, and obviously I don't consider Josh Brolin an actual recast considering he has reconstructive surgery on his face... but yeah, it has a bit going against it. Let's see if I'm wrong (hope I am).

I really like the new Miho.

Other than that I'm not at all excited about this movie.

It's sad we lost two of the actors from the original, but that Alba still looks like she actually gets something to do besides swing her hips. I love Jamie Chung, I think she looks great. And, MCD's recast fits the bill. Super excited for JGL. I hope this is great. The original movie is something i hold near and dear.

First Sin City was great. Can't wait for this one. I'm looking forward to see how Dennis Haysbert plays Manute. Should be good.
