Robert Rodriguez has spoken out and given us an update on Sin City 2.

"We still talk about doing that as early/later next year, but I haven’t gotten into that yet," Rodriguez told us. "I know Frank [Miller] wants to do it I know I wanna do it and its always sort of time permitting kind of thing but its not like I can tell you definitely we’re starting…its not my next picture I know that. Doesn’t mean that its not the picture right after because that’s still a possibility."

And if he gets a script that he is happy with, he said that the original one in 2007 will likely be the one he goes with.

"It’s the one that Frank wrote and we have to look at it now and go is this really the one?…I think its built up so much, like are we really going to satisfy everybody with what we have, should we add to it? It’s the thing we’ve always talked about but now two years later going on three we’d probably make some adjustments but nothing that would take a long time."

And according to bloodydisgusting.com, rumor has it that the sequel is about Dwight McCarthy planing his vengeance against the woman who betrayed him, Ava Lord, while Nancy is trying to cope with Hartigan's death.

As long as Rose McGowan isn't in it, it's all good.

RIP Brittany Murphy
at least one character wont be returning
and BryEL, I would want Rodrigues over Frank for sure
Miller is a create writer and creator of comic books but let the movie directing be handled by the pro

I hope they continue with the thought to do Dame to Kill for, that will have Marv plus explain the whole "new face" stuff with Dwight to everyone who hasn't read the GNs.

realfirstavenger & BryEL- I wouldn't let Rodrigues or Miller direct it alone. Both of them suck on their own terms if they don't work together. It took a team effort in the first to make it a brilliant film! Keep the team goin' :))

And i really thought they were making "To Hell and Back". Still, i don't give a shit, every Sin City story is good!!!

Regardless what the commentary says, Miller was there to tell Rodrigues what he wanted. Comparing Sin City to EVERY film Rodrigues has done explains alot too. I hate Rodrigues. And i hate Miller. And i also hate Tarantino. How many times have i said that the best thing Tarantino every did was introduce Iron Monkey. Yet the combination of those guys was what could actually be concidered "winning". Either of them alone would suck.

Shaman - True, every Sin City story is good. I would love to see a Family Values movie but that's mainly because it focuses on my favorite two character.

JerusalemJr- Well it's been sooo long since i read all my TPBs but i think i was lucky since the first film featured my favorite stories ;) Hell and Back is probably the one i least enjoyed but it was still damn good. I'm just up for a second Sin City period! BRING IT ON :))

Dellamorte1872 - Eh, if I remember right she wasn't in much of Dame to Kill for, more of a background character. Dwight doesn't really become a whore.... err, 'ladies man' until after the face gets fixed.

Gunsmith - If I remember right Marv was actually more of a bad a$$ in Dame to Kill for, he kind of works as Dwight's hired muscle.

a mixture of 'a dame to kill for' and the stories about Delia from 'Booze, Broads and Bullets' would be awesome!

Though I quite like Rose Mcgowan for Ava Lord...

I wasn't mad on A Dame To Kill for, they would need to mix it with something else because the story is just too basic.

I was saying let Frank do it because its his story, idea, etc. The Spirit was just a bad idea to begin with. Letting a comic writer/artist direct something of sacred value and yet twist it all up into poop was a dumb idea BUT Sin City 2, atleast with Robert producing it, I believe Frank could give it justice.
