TASM 2 Actor Dane DeHaan On Whether He'd Be Interested In Reprising Green Goblin Role

Earlier this year, a rumor did the rounds which claimed that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 actor Dane DeHaan was set to reprise the role of Harry Osborn/Green Goblin for the then untitled Far From Home follow-up.

It seemed like another case of a site flinging a few different possibilities at the wall in the hopes that something would stick, and sure enough, DeHaan debunked the report outright shortly after.

“There’s no truth to those rumours,” he said at the time. “I don’t even know how that would be pulled off. And I have no idea what they’re doing with the Spider-Man movies now, but I don’t really understand a world in which that would be possible.”

So, we won't be seeing DeHaan's take on Harry Osborn in Spider-Man: No Way Home, but does he have any interest in revisiting the character down the line?

"I would definitely hope to take on a new thing, for sure," DeHaan told ComicBook.com about potentially returning to Spider-Man or joining another franchise. "What's exciting to me is always doing new things, and I'm sure something like that will come along again in my life, and I'm excited to see what it is."

We do know that No Way Home will feature Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Spider-Man 2 actor Alfred Molina as Doctor Octopus, and TASM 2's Jamie Foxx as Electro , along with returning cast members Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Tony Revolori and Marisa Tomei.

Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield (among others) are expected to return as their respective takes on Spidey, but that's yet to be made official.

Would you like to see DeHaan suit-up as the Green Goblin again, or do you think Sony/Marvel should move on with a new version of the classic Spidey villain?

Don't really see a need for him to return, unless they make him part of Sony's Sinister Six (which I guess is being teased in Morbius)

@RokoVII - Dane himself was great in the movie tho. I don't buy Electro was supposed to be the main villain, he was just the thug played by the bigger name. Harry Osborn was the main villain of ASM2, and imo, Dehaan nailed it

He's a really good actor. He nailed it in Chronicle and ZeroZeroZero mini-series.

This actor is truly terrible. Him and fox were just plain bad in an otherwise groovy movie. With any luck we won't be revisiting this or the fox spider universe in film ever. Molina coming back is all good with me but I'm hoping they have the intelligence to not bring those films crashing into the mcu... Mcu just doesn't need this poop.

I liked Dane DeHaan's portrayal more than James Franco's. Sorry he was awesome to me with the little screentime he had. William Defoe was the best

The studio should ask the fanbase how they would feel about him returning before asking him to return considering he was the worst part of the movie.

If he joined the MCU it'd have to be as another charter I blame the script more so than him but even so ugh. If he did join I could see him as one of the following MCU characters:IceMan ,Hydro Man ,or Parker Robbins

His Goblin wasn't menacing at all in the slightest, which is a shame because he was a great antagonist in Chronicle.
