I must begin this review by saying that so far I have enjoyed the DCEU, obviously it has its flaws, but so far it has had a good start. This is my ranking of the DCEU movies so far.

3. BATMAN V SUPERMAN: Dawn of Justice
Now to the main focus of this article, SUICIDE SQUAD.
- THE CHARACTERS:
[ Deadshot / Floyd Lawton ]:
Easily the best character in the whole movie for me, he shows real character development and has a really interesting arc. The only complaint I have about him may be his suit which personally I wasn't a big fan of. His best moment was at the moment where Amanda Waller commands him to kill Harley Quinn (because she tries to escape with the Joker), but due to the connection they both develop through the film he spares Harley and just turns back to Waller and says: "I missed."
[ Harley Quinn ]:
She gets the spotlight for most of the movie, her arc revolves around her love to the Joker. Her acting in the movie is amazing, it was great to see how she went through a sane worker at Arkham to be "crazier and more fearless than the Joker" (According to the Government agents that Waller has dinner with). Her best moment is when you see her origin, it's amazing. Especially the part where she jumps into the Ace Chemicals tank. The reason she is second is because for me at times she got annoying.
Oh and a lot of you will be pleased that by the beginning of the movie you will see her using this suit in a flashback:

[ Amanda Waller ]:
She'll do ANYTHING to get what she wants, she is really intimidating. Big applause to Viola Davis, she was plain badass. The way she manipulated Flag, there is a scene where she kills government agents that saw what Task Force X was doing in Midway City just because they didn't have the clearance level to know that. She had everyone in control with her "killer app" (thank Harley Quinn for that joke), but when the main villain is defeated and they save Amanda she comes out of nowhere and forces them back to their cells threatening to kill them, a moment which was sort of unnecessary. Saying thank you and showing gratitude won't kill you, Amanda.
[ Dr. June Moon / Enchantress ]:
Look, I didn't dislike Enchantress as the villain, but it just felt a little too rushed. I would have made The Joker the main villain of the first film, then have Enchantress be the villain in Suicide Squad 2 or 3, it would have made a deeper impact in the story (A "friend" turned enemy) and it would have made Rick Flag's final decision to kill Enchantress more meaningful and impacting to the general audience. As you may have thought, Enchantress dies when Rick Flag crushes her heart, but June Moon miraculously survives, which is unnecessary. I mean, June Moon without Enchantress is practically useless for the future in the DCEU, maybe she should have stayed dead.
In general she was a weak villain, she had cool powers and the character was the most interesting of all, but her intentions and her plan are bland.
[ Whatever his name is / Slipknot ]:
WOW. BEST. CHARACTER. EVER. Said no one ever, like really, he was just a plot device at much. They didn't even explain his origin, he only punches a woman (which was very funny). Then he is tricked by Captain Boomerang (Boomerang wanted to see if the nanochips they had in their necks really did explode and posed a real threat to their lives) into escaping, and he is quickly killed by Rick Flag. He was just useless. Ugh, why did I write so much for this guy?
[ Chato Santana / El Diablo ]:
Easily my favorite secondary member of the Squad, he was a very fun character who wanted redemption. He killed his wife and kids when he lost control, after that he never seeked war or fights (he even sits out the first two battles the squad has). Then he unleashes the devil and becomes one of my favorite characters, he becomes a highlight. Sadly, he and the character Scott Eastwood play sacrifice themselves and kill Incubus. His best moment was when he turns into literally a fire devil in his last fight against Incubus.
[ Tatsu Yamashiro / Katana ]:
Well, I wasn't expecting much of her, she says approximately ten lines, does some cool stuff with her blade, talks to her dead husband's soul which is trapped in her blade and that's it. Still, when it comes to action Katana has some of the best moves and most badass attacks in the whole movie. I would love to see more of her in the DCEU.
[ Rick Flag ]:
He keeps the Squad in control. He's a great character, even though his relationship with June Moon seems a little bit forced. In terms of the fight scenes he just plain sucks, he always gets caught and dragged by those eye monsters Enchantress created. His best moment is where Enchantress is basically defeated, he has her heart in his hand (whoever holds Enchantress's heart can control her or kill her) and begs her to give him June Moon back, when Enchantress denies he is forced to crush the heart (Yes, just like Once Upon a Time) and kills Enchantress.
[ Killer Croc ]:
He's a great character who's only wish is to be left alone and have a home. He has like the same amount of lines as Katana, but some of them steal the show like "I'm beautiful", this is a response to when Harley Quinn says that everyone is pretty on the inside and ugly on the outside, except for him, who is ugly out and inside.
[ Digger Harkness / Captain Boomerang ]:
He is the "funny" part of the movie. Honestly, I didn't find him funny at all and his fetish for pink unicorns seemed weird... In my opinion he was a wasted character as he could have had a more interesting arc.
- THE EDITING:
In the first 30 minutes where we see most of the origin stories, the editing is a mess, there are scenes that are very random (especially the one with the Joker lying around hundreds of knives and guns). After that, when the story gets a little less crowded the editing becomes a little better.
- THE STORY:
The story itself isn't very good, it has lots of plotholes (like how the Joker survives the fall of an helicopter which explodes) and relies on many coincidences and forced situations. The worst part of the story was the whole thing with Enchantress' heart, it was just unnecessary, even though it provided the best scene at the end with Rick Flag crushing it and "killing" the love of his life.
- THE CAMEOS:
It was amazing to see Flash and Batman in the origin flashbacks, it's great to see the heroes from the villain's perspective and Batman just steals the show when it comes to the scene where he arrests Floyd Lawton. I would have liked at least one mention of Wonder Woman or why Flash, Batman or Wonder Woman never showed up at Midway City.
- THE POST-CREDITS SCENE:
It was great. I loved the interaction between Waller and Bruce Wayne, Waller never missed an opportunity to use her leverage and she uses it against Wayne to save herself. She asks for him to take care of the info of what really happened in Midway City a secret in exchange of the files of Aquaman, The Flash and for some reason... Enchantress... What will Wayne do with it?
FINAL VERDICT:
Task Force X appears for the first time in the big screen and even though it may disappoint some there are many moments that will make fans happy and for many this will be an entertaining film.
