Back in January there was talk of a CGI Reeves appearing in Man of Steel. Back then it was suggested that the image below dropped hints that we would see Christopher Reeves as the bumbling Clark Kent from the original movies.

So as I was sitting in the cinema massively enjoying the epic Man of Steel I was keeping an eye out for Reeves.

It doesn't come as expected above; it actually comes in the moment when Henry Cavill's Superman was being beaten down by the World Engine in the Indian Ocean. As the immense power beats Superman's face I was sure that for a brief moment a CGI Christopher Reeve appears superimposed on Cavill's face. I did a double take but it was gone. I had to go back and check it out.

I am happy to report that on second viewing of the film I saw it again, and I am convinced it was a deliberate Easter Egg by the film makers.

Unfortunately I can't find any pictures online at the moment but did you see it? Am I going mad? Sound off below!

I am highly skeptical about Christopher Reeve making an appearance in the movie. He has been dead for nearly ten years and I dont believe in ghosts so I dont think he could make an appearance from beyond the grave. At the very least it's probably a wax statue of Christopher Reeve as Clark Kent

I did notice a striking resemblance in that exact scene and moment but thought I was the only one. I think it was just the lighting and the way Cavill was facing upward that gave the illusion. Unless they indeed did throw that Easter egg in there.

I saw it too, and as it was a CGI heavy scene I believe whole heartily that it was a easter egg. His entire face was Christopher for a second in the scene, even his curl fell into place for that second, there is no way that it wasn't an easter egg unless, it was natural which would tell me chris approved ;)

Dammit. When i first heard about it, someone posted that it was when Clark gets bullied and the kid tries to get him to fight. I was thinking no way in hell they'd CG his face at that time. This sounds plausible though, guess I have to go and see it a third time now : - D

I thought everybody was crazy for seeing this, I saw it again in IMAX and that had to have been Reeve's face (my mom said she saw it too)

I just remembered that article about Man of Steel having a surprise cameo from somebody who was in the original series. They said "Think outside the box".

U weren't seeing things cuz I thought the exact same thing in that scene, it was almost like his face morphed into resembling Reeves for a few seconds, I kind of smiled when I noticed it. I thought maybe it was just how much Cavill resembles Reeves himself as Superman but then I thought again and maybe that shot was a homage to Reeves legacy as the Man of Steel himself. Either way it was meant to be...pure resemblance or CGI tribute, both are still a great easter to egg to Reeves :]

Man, it looks like i'll have to watch it again, didn't catch that one.

I was too busy watching out for the Wayne logo. That's the Easter Egg I wanted to see the most.

Do you mean the scene where he takes off and fly through Zod's ship ?

I saw it too. But I thought it was just Cavills resemblance to Reeve. But.. It's still cool either way
