OK every body we all know that Zod is in season 9.Davis is dead and the fake jimmy is dead i think is little brother will be in season 9 ok lets get to the Clark and doomsday fight it was about 20 seconds long i wanted to see more and yes Clark did fly it was not a jump.that fire did kill doomsday and he is not dead.do you guys remember when the Justice Lords had to fight doomsday they Did not kill him.Doomsday came back 3 times first when the Justice Lords fought doomsday, the next time was when he gave the real superman those scares under his eyes, and when the clone superman killed doomsday.so doomsday is not on Small ville. If you look real good at zod at the end you can tell that is Sam Witwer.

i thought that the season finale was a little bit of a let down i thought the doomsday vs clark fight could have been better, i mean clark could have at least landed a punch or something

It's about time they let Clark fly.
I was disappointed about the fight.
You'd think they would drag it out to at least 1 minute.
Give the fans 60 seconds of a long awaited slug fest.
Seriously!

It was a let down. Doomsday could have at least beat the #$%t of Clark for a good full minute.

i am a giant smallville fan and i thought the doomsday fight sucked but i know the explosion didnt kill him he is probably burried in the rubble waiting to come out and kill the real supes like he does in the comics however i am farely sure we wont be seeing doomsday again. next season better be good

I agree this season finale was a huge buzzkill
i thought we were gonna c clark and doomsday throw down all ova metropolis and wats up with lois putting on the legion ring and transporting to the future thats wack
and the part that made me mad was when clark jus says that clark kent is dead how is this gonna work for the next season i would have liked it if they left a cliffhanger like last season
JoNathanPetrelli
JoNathanPetrelli - 5/16/2009, 11:17 PM
I absolutely agree! There was no cliffhanger. Unless you count the Davis/Zod thing in Lex's backyard! But if you're gonna have a cliffhanger then you need the audience to understand a little bit about whats going on! The fight was ridiculous, the jimmy switch was just laziness and not planning things out. The denouncing humans part and saying that Clark Kent is dead, is totally ridiculous because the show is still called Smallville.
I've watched Smallville for the past 8 years, loyally, and now I honestly don't know if I can watch next season. Season 7's finale was terrible but this one was disappointing and, to be honest, an embarrassment. This show has been going down hill for years and I honestly don't know if its going to get better. Sad day...

Why is everyone always knocking Smallville? This show is the best on TV, I agree this may not have been the best season but with the creators and Rosenbaum gone for this season I think the new team has done a pretty good job so far.

For those who follow the comics you'd understand that #1 - Jimmy is 10 years younger than Clark, so to clean that up by having the younger brother as the Jimmy we all know makes sense, so stop complaining. #2 - At this stage in Clark's life he's not the full hero he should be, so for him to go toe to toe with Doomsday would not be fight, it would be a full slaughter on Doomsdays part. Having Doomsday burried underground also makes sense since Doomsday was underground when he escaped and came after Superman in he comics. It also explains why Doomsday was so determined to kill Superman, because now we know that Clark was the one who had him trapped underground for all those years in the first place. #3 - It has been said earlier in the season that Davis was the spitting image of his father Zod, so to have Sam Witwer play Zod also makes sense...I just hope he resembles the Zod we know from the movies. #4 - Clark has spent the past 8 seasons trying to run away from his Kryptonian heritage, all he wanted was to be normal, to be human! Now with the events that have taken place in this episode he's forced to except who he really is, a Kryptonian living amongst humans, with this being said he will be closer to being Superman than he ever was. Superman doesn't try to forget who he is, instead he embraces where he's from, how he was raised and what he's meant to do. Hopefully that's what we'll see in the next season, Clark embracing his full destiny, and realizing that he needs to be the savior that the human race needs. He'll be the hope that inspires humans to walk away from their inner dark side and strive to do good in the world, and not chose to let their dark side lead them the way it has for Lex and Davis....Don't get me started cause I go on and on defending Smallville!

Defend away, doesnt change the fact that the season finale was a huge let down. I dont care if the Jimmy thing fits in with the mythology, its a lousy deus ex machina that lets the writers get away with being lazy [frick]s. And what the hell was with Davis? All along they fight to seperate the "innocent" human side from the beast and when they do he turns into a [frick]ing lunatic killer anyway! BULLSHIT. Add to that a 3 second scrap between Clark and Doomsday complete with a jump and an explosion out of nowhere and you have a big steaming pile of suck.

sigh...im tired of people having to contemplate whether he is flying or just leaping. can we get something definitive please? Clark was traveling across town and sleep "walking"(flying)/floating above his bed, etc., way back in like seasons 1 and 2. this is pretty ridiculous
Supermike
Supermike - 5/17/2009, 9:37 PM
Can I ask something what would a longer fight between Doomsday and Clark really do I mean all I hear about is how the fights should be longer but last time I check these was a Tv show about a hero not TNA or WWE.

Other Thing Do movie Follow comics No just look at the Dark Knight and Star Trek(yes people it does have a comic book)

Bullshit has to stop it is a know fact that you can not use other people ideas and call them your own that why smallville does not follow the comics

Amen to Kryptonian Rage. I watched everyseason of Smallville and still today i watched season 1-8, I loved 8 it was good. Mercy, Kandor spoiler in there with the orb! but hey the flying thing that was a leap, look at the episode "Lucy" season 4 when clark leaped on to that truck same leap, even early in season 8 when he leaped on that building after zantanna! he anit flying yet guys. look smallville has had it's up and downs but hey its a show. and yes its a great one. next bring facts guys before downgrading something.

Clark didn't fly. It was in fact a leap. If they allowed Clark to fly that would've been the end of the show because he would be Superman. If they continue with the show past season 9, maybe he will fly. Oh and don't expect little Jimmy to be back because, drum roll please....... he is still too young to be a wise cracking Daily Planet photographer.

Nuff said! All bow before General Zod, savior of Kandor! (likely scenario for upcoming season as stated by orb in episode before ssn finale.)
JoNathanPetrelli
JoNathanPetrelli - 5/18/2009, 8:30 AM
Why would Zod be in the orb, and more importantly, why the hell would they bring him back? He's already been a villain. They are doing exactly what they did with Brainiac! Brainiac would die, but then not be dead. Over and over again. Zod should be in the phantom zone or in Clark's crystal or whatever, not in the orb that is supposed to control Clark. Does anyone really want to see Zod again? Or would you rather have a new and different villain.
And with the whole Jimmy thing. It wouldn't have been a big deal if 1) they hadn't tried so damn hard to make "Henry" James Oslen, fricken Jimmy Olsen. They should've hinted that he wasn't the "real" Jimmy Olsen. and 2) why couldn't they have at least introduced the brother?? Oh my mistake that I thought that some guy who's name is Jimmy Olsen, takes photos for the Planet, calls Clark CK, and teams up with Lois was Jimmy Olsen. My bad!
And the fight! What fight? I am pissed that they didn't even fight. But it would have been nice for them to explain that Doomsday is stuck underground or something! All they did was say that Clark "searched the entire earth" or whatever and couldn't find him. Soo weak.
I love Smallville but they have been leading to the Clark/Doomsday face off all season and it wasn't a face off at all. It was uber dissappointing. Season 9 WILL be better. I trust them that much. But I am sick of dissappointment from this show.

Sound like the problem is not smallville but You! joNathanPetrelli Maybe smallville just too smart for you
hawkngo
hawkngo - 5/19/2009, 3:05 AM
lol. and the orb is to control clark yes..but you remeber when lex was the vessel to zod. it was suppose to be clark but fine went to lex. look i think zod will be good a villian for season 9. Look i think whe clark left at the end of season 8...I think he's ethier going to africa or the fortress. you remeber in the comics clark went to africa for a little while then came back to become superman. or just go to Jor-el. we just have to wait and see!!!
JoNathanPetrelli
JoNathanPetrelli - 5/19/2009, 7:53 AM
what do you mean too smart for me? So you're saying they can make piss poor scripts that make us guess everything? I thought Clark was going to fight Doomsday. I know that he's not supposed to fight him until he's Supes but I don't remember Clark Kent destroying Brainiac time and again in the comics. Or Clark Kent saving the Earth from Zod, or destroying Bizarro or fighting Lex with the Justice League. Smallville DOES NOT follow the comics that well, if at all. And were any of us supposed to figure out the Jimmy thing? Honestly, did any of you really see that coming?
The show is pretty much Superman without the flights and tights. Next year is going to pretty much all Justice League which is awesome. I just hate it when they 1)don't explain things and 2)make ridiculous decisions that try to cover up their laziness. If they can stop trying to insert stupid things that aren't supposed to be there (Veritas and Doomsday being Segeth) then the show would be 10 times better. They excell at writing Jusice League episodes and I think next year will be a hell of a lot better! Go Watchtower!!!
CrimsonPhantom
CrimsonPhantom - 5/19/2009, 7:55 AM
@joNathanPetrelli They can't kill of major villains. Zod, Brainiac, Doomsday. They are all an unstoppable force in the Superman lore. If Smallville actually killed any of them off, it would utterly destroy the show's fanbase.
KryptonianRage
KryptonianRage - 5/19/2009, 8:11 AM
I say stop complaining and take it for what it is, a TV SHOW!!!! Every time a comic book writer gets the opportunity to write a Superman story they always have their own vision for the character, why is that any different from movies or TV? Smallville was Millar & Gough's vision of the character and yes it was different from what we've seen in the Superman Mythology but the fact that it was different is what made it so successful!!! Like I said before, it may not have been the best season, or even the best season finale, but what the creative team has done this season without Millar, Gough, & Rosenbaum is still an achievement and I still have faith that Smallville will continue growing stronger even with all you haters trashing it because you have nothing better to do.

@Kryptonian Rage
I didn't mean to totally trash the show. I really love smallville and I've been a die hard fan for 8 years. But, like you said, it wasn't the greatest season. Its just I know they could do SOO much better. I mean, they have in the past! I'm just rather frustrated with the show lately but there is no way I'm going to stop watching cuz I love the show. Smallville made me love Superman!! But overall, I really do love the show and the characters and, most of the time, the writers. :D

What people forget is if Clark had any longer of a fight seen with doomsday HE WOULD BE DEAD! He's not superman yet. He would get annihilated as he is now. As for the rest of the show I was a little disappointed with the whole "Clark Kent is dead" garbage. Something similar seems to happen at the end of every season.
