SUPERMAN LIVES: New Test Footage From Tim Burton's Cancelled Man Of Steel Movie Emerges
We never got to see what Burton had in mind for the Man of Steel, but this previously unseen footage gives us some more insight into what Superman Lives would have been like. Take a look at the clip below!
Tim Burton's cancelled 1990s DC project Superman Lives has become an area of interest for many superhero fans, mainly because it looked absolutely insane.
The film was set to star Nicolas Cage as Superman and at one point had Kevin Smith attached as the writer. Superman Lives was supposed to feature Doomsday, the Death of Superman arc, a host of weird creatures and a pretty unique looking costume for Kal-El.
Some recently unearthed test footage, courtesy of Dread Central, shows us some of the concepts for this super suit, and it looks about as weird as you're probably expecting. Take a look:
Since Burton did some pretty strange stuff with Batman once he got complete creative control from Warner Bros., it makes sense for his vision for Superman to be this unconventional.
However, considering how the version of Superman that the studio ended up settling on had pretty much the same aesthetic as the original Christopher Reeve films, maybe this bonkers version of the Man of Steel would have been refreshing.
