Man of Steel Preview

First Trailer Review:

When I first saw the two trailers for the highly anticipated Man of Steel movie coming soon in 2013 my initial reaction was what the F**K was that. It wasn't negative or anything like that it just didn't give the action, paw, gee wiz trailer I would expect especially from a guy like Zack Snyder. So I watched it again knowing what I'm going to get and felt more positive on what the movie is gonna bring me and a lot of other superman fans. I especially like the music which kinda makes me think if superman is gonna save and kiss Frodo as they fly into the sunset with a pissed of Lois Lane at the end of the movie. I like the realism in the movie fells like if Christopher Nolan stuck his hand up Zack Snyder's ass as he made the movie to make sure he doesn't do that speed up slow motion shit he's done for all his movies. It definitely keeps them from becoming a marvel movie copycat and approaching a more darker and realistic tone for all their future superhero movies. The Dark Knight did change things it seems like were never going back. What I am worried about is that it may be closer in tone to Batman Begins which is not what superman is all about. When we saw Henry Cavil in the beard don't say you weren't thinking about Christian Bale from Batman Begins. Lots of people have said that you got to make him darker because Superman's too boring and make him like Batman. If you do that then your taking away everything that is great about that character and what makes him arguably the greatest superhero of all time. However seeing Clark Kent as a kid with the black version of Krypto out in the farm makes me hopeful that they are sticking to the core of Superman and his family background in Kansas. Which is like one of the most crack and meth infested states in America I mean if they wanna make it more realistic they would have Superman beating up meth and crack dealers and a couple of hookers before he goes out to Metropolis. However besides all the bad jokes, it makes me still excited about this movie coming out. I especially love the end with Superman flying of and can't wait to see Michael Shannon as General Zod who is one of the most underrated actors out there this could be his break out performance into mainstream movie audiences. You should definitely see Take Shelter he is incredible in that movie. So for my overall review from like a 1 to 10 scale it would be like a 6.5 just didn't give me enough to get more excited for the movie but I am still pretty damn excited. Oh before I forget it was cool seeing Superman in what seems to be a cool Deadliest Catch episode can't wait to see the re-run on On Demand by the way.

Theories on New Trailer footage

Here are my theories on what the New trailer attached to The Hobbit footage can bring to mainstream audience and superman fans all over. I've read many articles, seen set footage, and pictures on the Man of Steel movie. I think you could see some of the footage that the lucky bastards at Comic Con got to see and new footage as well. I think we may see some snipets of the tornado that terrorizes Small-ville, the destruction of krypton, General Zod and superman fighting and Faora, and Amy Adams of Lois Lane. You also might get to see Clark save his classmates from drowning inside the school bus. I hope we get to see more of General Zod fighting because the descriptions of the action scenes sound pretty damn fantastic. I've read that Superman carrying a large piece of a building as using it as a weapon to take down General Zod. Yet I wouldn't be surprised if they just used the footage they presented at Comic Con which also looks cool. I only saw the crappy bootleg version they had on YouTube. What I hope for this new trailer to present is a great take on the superman origin and try to distant themselves from the Richard Donner movies movies. I also hope they try to stay away from the Jesus Christ parallels or at least not make it so obvious like in the Bryan Singer movie. I mean seeing superman walking on the clouds kinda makes you think of Jesus Christ walking on water. So my excitement for the trailer is at an all time high right now and makes me hopeful of the new Superman and most importantly The Justice League movie. Also I think Henry Cavil will do a good job as superman I've seen a couple episodes of The Tudors and I'm glad they gave to someone that could actually act. I'm also glad they gave it to an unknown so that we think about the character of superman more than the actual actor playing it. Plus its cool to see Morpheus yell at Superman, would you like the red or the blue pill superman cause either way your still gonna get [frick]ed in the end. Write your thoughts on this article below the comment section and tell me what you think about the new movie. Oh before I go I am curious if there will be a Lex Luthor cameo at the end of the film which might be the connection that the superman and batman universe can have to come together for the Justice League movie. I am so [frick]ing Excited!!!!!!!!!!

He's already proven he go froma cool swavish guy to a complete insane psycopath who wants to be at the head of the pac. Shane is basically the country version of luthor. His portrayl of luthor would be like shane where he's a cool level headed wolkaholic whose always ontop of his buisness. Then he sees the power supes has and slowly grows crazy trying to ascertain the power for himself and wanting to be an immortal.

Probably won't show us anything, just like the last trailer attached to TDKR.

Anyway, there's no Lex in this film. Guaranteed 100% trust me...i was one of the few who actually wanted him in the movie.

I think the way to introduce Martian Manhunter is to make him a plot element in the story of him coming down to earth and needing the help from the justice league also have Flash be like a young almost cocky vigilante type that gets caught in the middle of all the crazyness with aliens coming to earth.

Luthor would at most be a cameo...finding the right person for his part is critical for the second MOS film.

I think the absence of Jimmy relates to the rumors that he doesn't start at the Daily planet til the last scene of the film. Some are saying that the comic con footage where Clark wall past the Daily Planer globe, enters the elevator, dons the glasses, elevator closes is the last scene of the film. Lois is there of course because of her relations witha military father.

People who love Walking Dead want Jon Bernthal.
People who love Breaking Bad want Bryan Cranston.
People who love Mad Men want Jon Hamm.

You know what, I say make him a composite image. Existing in holographic form only, as the man pulling the strings. The question then is who would voice him?

For that, I say Tom Cruise.

How is a Lex Luthor cameo in any way a connection for the Superman and Batman films?

If anything it will just be a cameo setting him up for the next Superman sequels, not to jump ahead for the Justice League film if and when it comes out.

Show Luthor how he is supposed to be interpretted...as a genius when it comes to science and tech while still being the billionare CEO of Luthor Corp, as well as subtely portraying his obsession with Supes and wanting to rid the world of him by optaining great power to do so, wether it be by CADMUS, a kryptonite powered armor suit or running for President.

As for actors to play Lex, we need someone who can pull off being a brilliant buisness man and a pompous rich jerk as well as a danger to Supes and all he stands for.

My vote goes for Jon Hamm and at the least or wat was being rumored for a time a year or two ago, Billy Zane :]

Or an actor willing to shave their head.

@Tainted- Not just ANY shaved or otherwise bald actor can play Lex.

@Bane2099- LMAO, I agree with ya there bro. A Lex Luthor cameo is in no way a bridge between Superman to Batman...then to JLA. It does only serve to acknowledge he will play a more pivotal role in the sequel.

I'm glad people in this article are being more diplomatic. I wouldn't think a simple CAMEO is such a big deal but some don't even want the guy to make a cameo. But he should be acknowledged in some way and I don't just mean clever references or shout-outs. We need to see the physical appearance of Lex.

btw Bane2099, the company is called- LexCorp not Luthorcorp ;D That's Lionel's thing, lol
Bane2099
Bane2099 - 8/4/2012, 5:41 PM
@LP4- My Bad, got confused with the company name there lol

But ur right, we need to physically see Lex and who will be playing him, NO pulling a Norman Osborn from TASM, show Lex.

Tainted87 - 8/4/2012, 7:02 PM
Lex overshadows everything. If the Salkinds had their way and Gene Hackman hadn't rebelled against them for the third movie, Lex would have been the villain of EVERY Superman movie - that's FIVE movies. I don't want to see him.
TruthJusticeSuperman
TruthJusticeSuperman - 8/5/2012, 4:21 AM
Guys the way to make lex luthor connect with the batman universe is that in the comic book lexcourp is a main competitor of wayne enterprises. If you dont want to do a justice league movie right away then just [frick]ing do a worlds finest movie we all want that

I didn't even read the complete article. All I could think about was Chris Nolan is associated with the project so um, um... This is Chris Nolan's Superman FTW!!!! Don't lie people everyone is already putting Nolan's Brand Name on this film. Because after the success of the Batman series Nolan is a brand name. I wouldn't be surprised if DC used Nolan's treatment with Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern reboot with a Black guy, and any other superhero... Just saying...
