Could the Transformers 3 Action Scenes Rival The Dark Knight's?

Could the Transformers 3 Action Scenes Rival The Dark Knight's?

If the Chicago Film Office Director should be believed, then yes. It appears that Micheal Bay and crew are pulling out all the stops for this three-quel.

Michael Bay and Shia LaBeouf have both been vocal about making "Transformers 3" more about story and character development rather then big action sequences, which has pleased many fans who were dissapointed by "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen".

"Transformers 3" began filming this month and some of the scenes will be shot on location in Chicago. According to the Chicago Film Office Director, Rich Moskal, some of the action sequences the crew has planned to film from July 10th to August 19th could rival the action sequences of "The Dark Knight", which was also filmed largely in Chicago.

Moskal specifically said: "scenes they're planning could match if not exceed the spectacular stuff The Dark Knight production pulled off."

When Mr. Moskal was asked what residents of Chicago should see during the shoot, he answered: "Flying debris, flipping cars, stunts, that's the kind of stuff you'll probably be seeing here."

"Transformers 3" certainly has some postive aspects so far: No Megan Fox, Less blowing stuff up, and the twins Mudflap and Skids are apparently being killed off.

well action wise it is not hard at all to beat the dark knight. the most that had was 2 minutes of explosions and dog bites Bay will easily crush that

The Dark Knight did some amazing work with practical effects. Since it didn't use CG for much, it felt very real, which is what a lot of movies today are missing. That said, it's not like the action is its main seeling point, so there are movies out there with more visually interesting action scenes. In terms of overall quality, Transformers 3 won't be in the same league as TDK. But, in terms of action, it will probably be more explosive.

Transformers is nothing compared to Batman! Another postive aspect would be if Bay got canned!

That's still kind of missing the point. If explosions made good movies, Bay would be a multiple Golden Globe and Academy Award winner.

They keep talking about less explosion more story but then this article talks about action scene being better than The Dark Knight. I liked it because of the robots and Shia Labeouf is an appealing actor (also for Megan Fox), so I'm still gonna watch and hopefully it is just like the first one which I really liked and not fail like the second one.

Was the dark knights action that great?..i always thought that was the most lacking thing about the new batman's..the fight scenes were so choppy..id rather see the punch, the kick then just imagine it.

Bay already ruined transformers by making it all about humans. If he wants to do a good transformers movie make it like the transformers animated movie. that would be awesome.

If there was a cross over Batman would kill all transformers easy. He would use some sort of tech and disable all the bots and then take em apart and study them to apply thier tech to his new shit. lol

Blah!! You really can't compare the two movies action sequences as they both have different elements going on. The dynamic of transformers action in my opinion is misunderstood by the haters of it.

I mean what exactly you will see when giant transforming robots get frantic, chaotic, and kick ass on earth among humans? In pursuit of revenge because of the power the decepticons have it will get crazy and chaotic. I find it ironic how these movies surpass the source material even out do it and people are still not satisfied.

But I rest my point. If Bay can indeed create a better story that balances elements of 1 and 2 i'll be happy. The Dark Knight is fantastic but the hand to hand combat was missing greatly.

Hey, Valdez. No one went to see the films for Megan Fox. Some of us like the Transformers franchise. Not that I hate her, but c'mon.

Again, "Transformers 3" is gonna bomb. With OR without Megan. Unless Michael Bay can pull a Lee Unkrich and deliver a genuinely good film, there's no way it's gonna get praised.

im not a megan fox hater but she is not really a big part of the movie most of us want to see transformers i don't get anything by watching a hot actress unless she were a talented actress other wise id don't really care for her well now that i think about it i would care about her if she was naked in the movie :p

The Bridges of Madison County's action scenes rival those of The Dark Knight. The car chases WERE well done, the rest of the action was crap.

Oh - and Terminator 2 could be the greatest action movie of all time. Y'know, if Die Hard and Aliens had never been made.

how is no Megan Fox a good thing. Now we have a no acting experience model playing the female lead

Wow, great. So more character development means more dogs humping dogs, more terrible sidekicks who don't know how to shut up, and more God-awful humor. Gee, sounds fantastic.

The action sequences were NOT the problem with the friggen movies, Michael Bay! You have no idea how to create decent human characters! Adding more horrible, horrible scenes of Sam's parents getting stoned and talking about sex/masturbation will NOT make your movie better!
skidz
skidz - 6/28/2010, 10:07 PM
I think what they're going for is fewer (but larger) action sequences. The Dark Knight didn't have that many action scenes, but the were EPIC. So, I'd give this news a thumbs sideways if there was an option.

The problem with the dark knight was the editing. They kept jumping from scene 2 scene which made the action scenes 2 complicated. It wasnt wel organised. This is a sensless article. The Tokyo action scene from Transformers 2 alone knocks the whole of dark knight. The only action sequence worth mentioning was the Joker/two face car chase scene

Looks like Bay has completely missed the point AGAIN!!! TDK worked because the action had reason behind it.Not just action so it could fit in the Action genre
