These glorious looking things are 3-D glasses being released by Hasbro for when you go see 'Transformers 3' to make the event more...fun?

The glasses are going to retail for about $10 a pair and come in Optimus Prime, or Bumblebee, two levels of cool.

It's easy to make fun of these, but clearly they're designed for kids and not adults but I have a sneaky suspicion that we wont see only kids wearing these when we go to the theaters.

I think the guys over at TopLessRobot said it best when it comes to these glasses, and I quote:
"However, if you see any child wearing one of these outside a 3-D movie theater, you are legally required to push him down. Not to be mean, but to help the young nerdlings understand that some nerdery must stay inside. By giving them a light ass-kicking, you're going to help them avoid a major ass-kicking in the future. So please, for the sake of the nerd children... push 'em down. They'll thank you for it in about 20 years or so"

I couldn't have said it better myself.

Approximate retail price: $9.99: Ages: 5 & up; Available: 5/16/2011 – Get ready for TRANSFORMERS role-play masks that are “MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE!” New to the TRANSFORMERS line, fans can gear up and roll out with the TRANSFORMERS CINE-MASK 3D Masks for an all-new, one-of-a-kind experience. Each role-play mask – offered in OPTIMUS PRIME and BUMBLEBEE styling – functions as a “battle mask” to play out the TRANSFORMERS fantasy as one of these AUTOBOT characters. Each mask is also equipped with built in RealD 3D lenses that allow fans to watch any RealD 3D compatible movie! Each mask sold separately

'Transformers: Dark of the Moon' comes out this summer, July 1st.

I agree and any adult caught wearing them should be
punched square in the face while that stupid thing is still on their head.

First a Transformer DVD case, and now this?
Sometimes marketing can go too far.

its all about the benjamins. Hasbro would sell you a
dog turd with an autobot sicker on it if they thought
it would sell.

They should make Green lantern masks with the 3D glasses in them. It would make more sense.

will be annoying for anyone sitting behind someone wearing these....being tall i know my head, even if slightly, must appear in their line of vision...last thing they want would be me wearing a pointy hat!

I can't disagree anymore. How are they any dumber than the person getting duped into paying for 3D movie to begin with. Supporting 3D films in general is making the movie experience worse.
