New Images of Megatron as a Tanker Truck

A peak at the newly re-designed Megatron and a close-up of one of the "Wreckers" in the upcoming Transformers: Dark of the Moon

We originally saw Megatron as a gun way back when and when Transformers first hit several years ago, he took the form of a jet. Fast-forward a couple years and Megatron became a tank...of sorts. Now, in Michael "Boom-Boom" Bay's final installment in the series, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, it seems that the Decepticon leader will be taking the form of a tanker truck.

Over at InsideLine, they've posted a couple new pictures of the truck as well as a closer look at one of the three wreckers, which are modeled after the cars of NASCAR drivers Juan Pablo Montoya, Dale Earhardt, Jr. and Jimmie Johnson.

Take a look:

Transformers: Dark of the Moon is set to open this summer and stars Shia LeBeouf, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Julie White, Kevin Dunn, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Alan Tudyk and John Malkovich.

Fail! Why would Megatron choose a truck of all things!!

I grew up with transformer's in the early to mid 80's, and I absolutely loved it. Owned dozens of toys that I still have today. So to me Megatron will always be a gun (or at the very least a canon like Galvatron).

But I guess I can just hope for the best that this movie will be better than ROTF.

I think that truck can be Motormaster, but Megatron that is a waste!!!

Oooh ooooh, maybe Optimus can be a Walther P 38 now. Who is in charge of green lighting these decisions?!? They need to be kicked in the nards!!! Why does Hollywood feel compelled to stray as far away from the source material as possible? They must've really been pressured by hasbro so they could sell more toys. Or Bay is just a retard.

They could've introduced a new character for somthing unique. Instead, they've come up with a 3rd form for Megatron in 3 films. Megatron will sell better than a new character, so I'm stickin with "insidious Hasbro plot".

I like the idea of him being a truck.
Truck VS truck.

Megatron original "Gun" form I always thought was lame, to be the most evil transformer ever, and have to be held by his lame coward 2nd in command.

Give me space ship Megatron, give me tank Megatron, give me truck Megatron any day.

His face is still jacked up??? Did that little Einstein sounding Decepticon from ROTF die or something? Why couldn't it fix his face. Then again who cares? Continuity and common sense is for sure not on the importance meter for Bay

I think Megatron finally got some sense and decided that he should be a robot in disguise....like a truck...and not a Cybertronian Jet....or a Cybertronian Tank that flies.

WTF IS THIS? How do you just change what they Transform into? Yeah Megatron later turned into a bad ass tank but that was only to address the issues of him becoming a handgun that Starscream used. He was never an Optimus Wanna Be Truck. Why don't we just go ahead and make Optimus a jet like Starscream. Or maybe Bumblebee can turn into a Cassette Player. No wait...how about Arcee turns into a transgender autobot and goes back and forth between being male and female. It just transforms into either.

WTF WTF WTF BAY? How are you this retarded?

The whole idea was that the Autobots transformed into earth vehicles so that they could hide. Decepticon's never cared who saw them or where or when. They all pretty much chose air type vehicles among other militaristic type choices and flew everywhere...Why the Autobot's rarely flew anywhere is just another item on the pile of stuff that didn't make sense. BUT...Any Transformers fan knows that even within that nonsense that was going on there was a bit of sanity amongst it. Some stuff happened and it just made sense. Why Starscream didn't ever take Megatron out when he was a handgun is beyond me, but you assume that there's some level of respect there. Made sense at the time..What Bay's doing makes no sense not in an "Old Skool Transformers Nonsense" way....but in a "I don't give a f*ck what you fans think, or what the source material says or even what a Transformer is." kinda way.

EPIC FAIL ALREADY BAY....ONCE AGAIN. YOU SUCK AT LIFE.

im torn.. i like the truck as a bad guy alt mode, but i dunno for megatron.. if you dont like that he was a small handgun, i think they pretty much fixed that by making him his own cannon and then later a tank (among others) but if youve seen what hasbro has been making megatron's alt mode lately (including bay), where he has a crappy cybertronian "something" alt mode.. this is a better mode... but still just doesnt fit a megatron to me.... even with the big gun.. finally!!

and the toy.. i see the cape.. but sure does look like a lot of the truck disappeared and a lot less robot mass...

the boys at seibertron would love to see these pics if they havnt already...

@ EmeraldKnight thanks man...but it's true. People complain about everything on here, now the whole fox comic movies i can relate to. Just don't understand the Transformer thing, one was kick ass and part two was good for the action but it lacked depth and that wow factor that made you feel like a kid again. I may not be happy with how the second one was...but i won't say bay is an asshole or sorry director..mainly cause i ain't gonna hate on him. He's doing what he loves and is doing a better job at it than any of these guys on here could ever do..myself included.

Flop123 - 1/6/2011, 12:27 AM
@torch - I agree with you on lot things you said, but to me (and maybe a lot of other's on here) Bay really missed the mark with a lot of things in these two movie's. 1st off I really didn't go see a Transformers movie to see dogs humping, or robots humpings, and all that stupid ass S**t. 2nd in both movie's how much time do we actually get to see the damn transformers interact with other(and i'm not talking about the twins either)? There's a lot of other things I could mention too, but I'm not even going to bother because it's been mentioned more than enough times.

Bay did have his moments that I really liked. The opening seen in TF 1 when Blackout landed and transformed for the first time, I thought that was one of the sweetest things I even seen in a live action film and it made me feel like a kid again. Then in ROTF, the fight seen in the woods with Prime and all the Decepticons was also badass, but both movie's could have been better over all

i freaking love the transformer movies, and can't wait for the next one! Way to go Bay, u sold me!!! My Favorite movie series going on! @ flop...i wasn't aware the dog humping scene and robot humping scene lasted the entire two hours of the movie. Both were brief. And as for the human element..yea i will agree there is a lot of interaction human to human than transformer interaction..but um they're on earth..6.5 billion people..bound to have been some human element going on there.
