New Optimus Prime Toy Shows Wings

The wings seen in the Super Bowl TV spot has a toy and a description about what they are.

Yesterday, a TV spot for Transformers: Dark of the Moon was shown during the Super Bowl. You might have noticed that Optimus Prime had a set of what looked to be like wings. How it ties into the film remains to be seen, but these wings appear to be the result of something "Mechtech." The official description by Hasbro is below.

"The Mechtech Ultimate Optimus Prime figure features three modes of conversion – vehicle, robot, and robot with "mech suit." The trailer, which serves as a weapons depot and command center, also converts into a "mech suit" that Optimus Prime shows off when it's time to rumble.





Transformers: Dark of the Moon comes to theaters on July 1st, 2011.

I thought I saw wings on Prime in the Superbowl ad, and it looks like it'll be confirmed for the movie....YES!

Actually the PRIME (without wings) in first pic looks cool, look at how the torso looks!

Well this is toy, we know the toys are not that good...

Surely seeing from the teaser, the wings look far better!

Oh, I've guessed it must be the trailer, btw!

Yeah, I was a about to write an editorial about it (the wings from the TV Spot), damn I have to cancel it now! :/

Even with ROTF being the clusterfcuk it was, everyone has to admit, when Optimus got beefed up by all of Jetfires goodies, when the camera panned around him, it was badass..............


I think Bay is going to pull a rabbit out of a hat with this film.....

Seeing the trailer breakdown and him ?transforming? into a flying mode I think will be amazing on film!

Ok the wings on this toy look ridiculous, but what was going down on film was awesome.

This movie truly looks like it'll be the best one yet.

Yes, BORIGINS was an awful film, and your right, ROTF was very enjoyable...

I've also thought to myself, that had their been a more solid story line that was more heartfelt, the project twins and the mom going full retard might have actually been well received comic relief

But.........we all saw it

Laser beak. Looks like its formin up for some destruction to me. But then Bay could just as easily decide Dinobots are decepticons... doesn't mind a spot of artistic lisence. Its probably some all new character none of us have heard of.
