With several rumors on the web stating the release date of "Transformers 3," Michael Bay officially announced this morning when we can expect a follow-up to "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen." He also felt obligated to address Megan Fox after her recent statements.

"Well its official: We have a great Transformers 3 story. The release date is now July 1st 2011. Not 2012.

Today is Day One. This morning started with an ILM meeting for five hours in San Francisco. Currently I'm flying with writer Ehren Kruger to Rhode Island to talk to Hasbro about new characters.

P.S. Megan Fox, welcome back. I promise no alien robots will harm you in any way during the production of this motion picture. Please consult your Physician when working under my direction because some side effects can occur, such as mild dizziness, intense nausea, suicidal tendencies, depression, minor chest hair growth, random internal hemorrhaging and inability to sleep. As some directors may be hazardous to your health, please consult your Doctor to determine if this is right for you.

Pain and Gain is right after shooting of Trans 3.

Michael."

Whispers68: I don't know about everyone else, but that P.S. was rather funny. Hopefully the third film will improve on what many fans disliked about part two. Is anyone else waiting for this sequel?

@Phinehas

I corrected the typo but I guess the error stemmed from the article being about part three, whereas the particular statement was dealing with part two.

@KeepItReal

Megan will definitely be in part three as it appears currently but the film is two years away, so who knows except her and Michael Bay. I didn't have an issue with her in the film because she does bring the "eye candy" appeal to the series. But her constant complaining has the potential to ostracize her from the other cast and mainly Bay

whispers: "eye candy"...

lol... i hear you... but they could find other eye candy in her place... maybe with more substance. she didnt do anything really in part II. the other eye candy" robot did well AND had a purpose. at least if she has to be in it... give her something to do that is useful. if she were someone else with a thought in her head she would protest the lack of character her role is. she did so much better in part 1. when she was helping bumblebee in battle. you know. she could be pretty and handy too. =)

phin... hehehe =P

I think she knew her position in this action film when she was a "nobody" and signed on. Once celebrity-ism hit due to the box office smash of the first film, photo shoots in FHM and dozens of other magazines, interviews on television, etc...she entered the realm of the, "I'm more than a pretty face." She's exposed everywhere and perhaps she hasn't been grounded to know her acting isn't really "acting." It's really being on camera, having lines here and there and pouting her beautiful lips. It's about seeing her batting her eyes, not stimulating ones intellect by a portrayal on camera with the likes of Meryl Streep.

She's been typecasted in my opinion as the "it hot girl" and there's nothing wrong with that because not every musician is a great singer or instrument player, not every actor is an exceptional actor, not every artist is Leonardo...you guys get the point.

Who knows, maybe over time, she'll grow into a more well rounded actress but then again, she's earning millions by being pretty, her publicist doesn't care about her going down in history as the best actress. There are "good" actresses sitting on the sidelines but Megan is getting gigs continuously.

Seeing how she's all toes, it makes me Wonder how she buckled that belt!
KeepItReal
KeepItReal - 10/1/2009, 1:16 PM
whispers... that is my point.. she doesnt mind just being the hot it girl. Thats enough for her. If she had more character and depth to her she would fight to be more than that and not just be only that. when she was a nobody she did good in part I and now that she is a household name look what she does with that in part II. This is the time she needed to establish herself as to what type of actress she wants to go down as.

@Keepitreal

I definitely agree but some girls type-casted as the "hot girl" hate the title, so they try and move beyond the roles where their only direction is to keep teenage boys and men aroused. They try and hone their acting abilities and even when others label them as the hot girl, it isn't because her roles are dull/bland but it's because she is hot...but at the end of the day, she can still act. For others like Megan who are physically beautiful but don't like the "hot girl" label and yet each time we see them on film, it's representing another hot girl role, it's confusing to say the least.

I currently can't really think of someone who was labeled the "hot girl", hated the title and changed it by choosing her roles more wisely to eventually become an actress critics/fans can take seriously.

Maybe Angelina during her early career? Halle Berry?

@MultiPurposePoni

Was she always labeled the hot girl? I'm asking because I didn't know hollywood/critics/fans slapped the label on her

It's feasible though because she is an attractive woman

@MultiPurposePoni

I definitely understand the Twilight aspect of your message because like them, there are other young actresses in Hollywood who shy away from the limelight due to the damage/drama that comes along with it

As for Theron, Monster was an exceptional movie...I loved it. And Angelina embraced it with open arms and as you said, not only did it work but it continues working for her because people still consider her to be hot and yet she has roles in films like "Changeling," "The Good Shepherd," "A Mighty Heart," etc.

I still havent seen the second movie yet (missed it when it came out in the cinema) but im looking forward to getting it on blu-ray!

Megan Fox is gonna look really foolish returning for the third movie after everthing she's said about Bay! I actually think that he's a decent director in the genre of films he does. Ok, they're not Oscar worthy maybe but who cares! His movies are pretty damned entertaining IMO!

@MultiPurposePoni and Teabag

You Guys are silly...that girl in the picture is mighty tasty though.

I guess I'll assume when two people go "At it" on the site, they usually end up arguing, throwing feces on one another/computer screens and eventually blacklist one another as opposed to either seeing the viewpoint of the other person or simply agreeing to disagree?

@dammitboomer

On Bay's site, he didn't mention her. What do you want to understand about her?

multi: "@Whispers68 Can it be? Two members of the CBM community having an educated discussion for the first time and.." so what type of discussion was I having with him? btw.. agree with Charlize Theron. Scarlett JO also mentioned the same thing to the effect of how she wanted to be more than just a pretty girl in movies. And Natalie Portman and some others that i cant name just now. Its the level of quality of a woman that determines if they will use their looks to achieve their goals or strive to be something more than just another pretty face.
