According to one of the producers of the Transformers franchise, part three will be the final installment for him and Michael Bay...

In an interview with IGN while promoting the Angelina Jolie thriller, Salt, producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura was asked when the end will come for the robot franchise. And as far as he's concerned, the third will be the final installment.

"I would think so," he said. "I would think so."

"It may not be the end of the line of Transformers for Hasbro and Paramount," he added indicating that a reboot with a new creative team could still happen in future. "But I would think so...Director Michael Bay I'm sure is...He's spent a lot if years working on one thing!"

I think I remember Bay saying this already. On any occasion, reboot the franchise in 10 years with GI Joe and do them justice.

Best news yet on this franchise. They should have booted Bay after the 2nd one. They should reboot it in just a couple of years and title it "The Real Transformers" by adapting it properly and with minimal human elements.

when they reboot, instead of using cgi for the robots they should just use the old toys. So it'll be as close to the source material as possible AND be 100% kid friendly!

haha i wouldnt want the movie kid friendly. i mean i grew up watching transformers but i like watching them kill they crap out of each other and having some human casualties on the side.

It'd be cool to see a reboot with the original tv series characters (how they looked). You'd be able to tell them apart (which is one of the things people bitch about).

Why is it every time we get two or three movies into a series, someone thinks it's time for a reboot?

Do it right, can Bay, get a real director, and make TF4 and TF5 and do it better. Make TF4 about Unicron and TF5 about the next generation (i.e. Rodimus and Ultra Magnus).

BTW........ as far as the robots and beards go...... remember Alpha Trion and his handlebar mustache and beard?

the word reboot is pissing me off. they dont need to reboot transformers they just need to take shia labeoufs character out and continue from there. ...oh and a War for Cybertron prequel would be nice :)

I loved Transformers 1 and 2 since its Bays last film just let the series continue with a new director and bring in the Insecticons and Dinobots there are tons of Transformers left that havent even been on the screen. IF they do a reboot of the series go back to the beginning like how the Transformers race really started not Bay's interpretation
