While The Tick is undoubtedly the main attraction, the upcoming Amazon Prime Video series will actually follow Arthur Everest, an average accountant that becomes the Tick's sidekick after discovering that a sadistic supervillain has set out to destroy the City.

The Tick creator Ben Edlund is co-producing the project alongside Barry Josephson (Bones) and David Fury (Buffy the Vampire Slayer). Cinematographer-turned-director Wally Pfister (Transcendence) helmed each installment in the upcoming first season while Edlund penned the scripts.

The twelve-episode season will be split into two halves, with six episodes each. Part 1 will debut on the streaming platform on Friday, August 25 and Part 2 will arrive in early 2018.

Check out the first trailer below:

In a world where superheroes and villains are very real, unassuming office temp Arthur becomes obsessed with a sinister conspiracy he believes has taken over his City. Everyone thinks he's crazy, except his mysterious new ally, The Tick, a bizarre blue superhero who might just be a figment of Arthur's imagination....

The Tick features:
Peter Serafinowicz as The Tick
Griffin Newman as Arthur Everest
Valorie Curry as Dot Everest
Brendan Hines as Superian
Jackie Earle Haley as The Terror
Yara Martinez as Ms. Lint

The Tick premieres August 25

@Ha1frican - Amazon does this thing of streaming a lot of pilots and making the ones that are better reviewed series (which is really inteligent) They aired the pilot last year, everyone liked it and here we are now

@RasAlGhul - I really liked King Arthur, but I totally see both sides of this issue. On it's own, it's a fine Guy Ritchie movie. But as a King Arthur movie...there are problems(more than just a complete ignoring of the mythology).

I do think it'll find a cult audience though, just a shame we probably won't see though sequels.

Definitely looking forward to this. I rewatched the animated series recently and man was it ahead of its time. Truly underappreciated.
