It seems we'll be skipping a trailer and moving straight on to some clips. Amazon (via EW) has released the first footage from its reboot of The Tick, which is set to premiere this Friday, and this looks to be a very different show to the last live-action incarnation starring Patrick Warburton.

In the first sneak peek, The Tick accidentally murders a gang of criminals, and in the second he attempt to recruit Arthur as his Sidekick.

Have a look, and let us know what you think in the usual place.

In a world where superheroes have been real for decades, an underdog accountant with zero powers comes to realize his city is owned by a global super villain long-thought dead. As he struggles to uncover this conspiracy, he falls in league with a strange blue superhero. The Tick stars Peter Serafinowicz (Guardians of the Galaxy), Griffin Newman (Vinyl), Jackie Earle Haley (Watchmen), Valorie Curry (House of Lies), Yara Martinez (Jane the Virgin) and Brendan Hines (Scorpion). The Tick is executive produced by Ben Edlund (Supernatural), Barry Josephson (Bones) and Barry Sonnenfeld (A Series of Unfortunate Events), directed by Wally Pfister (The Dark Knight), and written by Edlund. The Tick is a co-production with Sony Pictures Television.

I think it's supposed to be a parody on Superheroes, but I gotta say this seems boring.

'd like a "Mystery Men 2" instead ... Though the gags being underlined by proper music might remedy a bit ...

This Tick comes off like an a-hole instead of this naive, good-hearted, old school superhero. I'm not liking it. Patrick Warburton really captured him so well, not digging Peter S's take.

@EgoEgor - so, this is to the Tick what BvS is to Superman?

@The72nd - Yeah. I am looking forward to this, and hope it gets a pilot. But I want so much more from the original animated series. Three seasons was nowhere near enough, :,(

If they wanted the Patrick Warburton acting and voice, then get Patrick Warburton!

Peter Serafinowicz calling Patrick Warburton at night

Also I'm pretty sure Wally Pfister didn't direct The Dark Knight. He directed that horrible movie Transcendence.
