Gotham is a great show. I have to admit I thought it was a dubious idea for a show, but as a crime drama the quality is surprisingly high.

Something tells me that the second half of season 1 is going to be much better than the first half. Also, the reveal that Jack Gruber is the show's version of Electrocutioner caught me completely by surprise.

Yes, we know Gambit is coming in 2016. I'm excited for that movie, too but this is a Gotham article. Can we please discuss Gotham? Here's the Gambit article:

This show is so much better when it focuses on Gotham and its corruption. Just be a crime drama that is loosely based on Batman and not try to establish Batman cannon. A show that is about Jim Gordon kicking ass and taking names can work. Ben McKenzie has proven that he can carry this show. I know that I'm in the minority with that opinion.

For example, that ending with Butch (*spoiler*) was boss!

Wow Gotham's back and as sh*t as ever. Way to make oracle's mum a worthless ho bag. Can't believe that Ben Mackenzie who was awesome in southland, just phones it in whilst playing an VIP in the batman universe.

It looks like there could have been a Gotham show that, was more like the comic book.

Is Jack Gruber supposed to be Hugo Strange?

Another great ep! Pacing was sweet. I love the old dialogue eg when Maroni calls that cop a 'mook'.

Coolness

Gotham has become not only the best comic based TV show out there (maybe ever), but the best show on TV, period. Anyone who says Gotham is boring blah blah is just being contrary or doesn't watch. Nobody needs that crap. And I agree, that guy could have been Hugo Strange!

I'm pretty sure Lester Buchinsky is going to be on Arrow at some point, so I guess they needed a different Electrocutioner character. Whether his appearance and attitude were misdirection to fans or not, it would have made more sense for Jack Gruber to be Hugo Strange. I wouldn't be surprised if Strange takes over for the annoying doctor who died.

I like gotham but when it comes to bad acting there are two shows that stand out. It's almost enough to make me dislike the show, almost
1. Reba
2. Gotham
