Zayas is a good bit of casting there. I'm also starting to think that Selina's character is gonna be a personal highlight for this show for me. Very Annie/Oliver Twist meets...well batman. I have yet to be bowled over by young Bruce though.

I think that actress playing Selina/Cat will grow up & be a very attractive woman.
Then many haters will lie & say they always liked her.
By the way I'm not sexualizing her,it's not hard to tell if someone has the genetics to become attractive.

The nitpicking from people on this site, with their quirky little things that bug them, reminds me of a pack of fifth graders.

@ MantiniuMan

Agreed, there is something Michelle Pfeifferish about her eyes and cheekbones.

Enjoying the show, hope it goes from strength to strength.

I was cringing through the entire first episode. This show needs better writers and fast. Did Oswald really need to be called a penguin 30 seconds after being introduced to the character? 'Call me Cat'?! Really?! It's like watching a fan fic. I hope it improves but I'm not optimistic.

And before all the DC fanboys suggest I'm just a Marvel troll, I'll say this show has more potential than AOS and could be something really cool; but if the lazy writing an over-the-top performances continue, this show is going to be complete crap. I bailed on AOS as well until after seeing the Winter Soldier. When I went back to see the ramifications of that movie the show seemed to hit it's stride. Gotham doesn't have the tie ins to bring the audience back if they lose it.

Carmen as Cat is my favorite character as of now, and I was a little doubtful back when news broke of her casting. She can dance but can she act? Yes she can, in my opinion.

The Penguins rise to power story is the most if the only interesting plot of the story.
Gordon is just like any other cop show. But with DC cameos.
Selena is just a little girl who makes about 4 CAT puns an episode
Bruce is just sitting in his house burning his hand (least interesting plot imo)
Fish Mooney...ugh every scene with her is hard to watch. its a struggle
Barbra is just eye candy.
I know theres been lots of movies with the "rise to power" story. But this show is actually showing someone we know become a The Penguin. ts different bc its not a Hero (ARROW) or someone who we are unaware of at first (BREAKING BAD) its a character who some people might not think is interesting until they see the big picture. If his plot line wasnt in this idk if Id still be watching.

also does it bug anyone else how they say Falcone?

@Blitzed
yeah the easter eggs and cameos get shoved down your throat HARD. its the weakness of the show. Like Riddler. they couldnt just say his name. they had to make him Riddle.....its just like OK WE GET IT HES THE RIDDLER. if their doing that for ppl who dont know just by their name, then develop him later down the road. so ppl go "Oh thats the riddler!" and unknowing viewers will get a nice surprise. its stuff like that, which the show messes up. they throw it all at u from the first min.
Blitzed
Blitzed - 10/2/2014, 9:06 PM
@Holmess Exactly, it just seemed so amateurish. If they had that develop out over the season or series it could have been very cool, it's really too bad. The kids comment saying you look like a penguin referring to Oswalds limp should have been the first mention of the name. Even Bullock is so over the top surly it's comical. It was like they felt they hat to hit the audience over the head with every aspect of this show.

Bullock is the best acted character on the show. Easily. Fish and Carmine are on the same level as far as I'm concerned. Penguin and Cat are third, but watching her is disturbing. There's a clear sexuality to her (especially that roof scene) that just makes watching that character uncomfortable. How old is she? Alfred seems like a douche.

Something about this show just rubs me wrong. Maybe it's the camera work or the lighting or something, but everything just seems artificial. Like plastic people reading lines on some studio's back lot.

Casting is good, narrative is passable, but the dialogue is cringe-inducing.

Every scene with Barbara is unbearable. I suspect they have some actual purpose for her down the road (like killing her off to everyone's "surprise"). If they actually are just playing her as a straight love interest, I'm astounded at how generic it is.

sameoldthing - 10/3/2014, 1:51 AM
@Spock
I don't think Barbara is a generic love interest. It's been shown her & Det. Rene Montoya were lesbian lovers at one point.
That's an interesting development for the future mother of Batgirl.

every Selina's scene is unwatchable. Forcing to be a cat, sexual appeal n bad dialogues. It's painful to watch. Bruce's scene too. Oh my,they act over the top.

please people.... its Batman related series. They have Penguin, Catwoman, Riddler, Ivy and Bruce Wayne on it. please watch it... please like the show.... please... its Batman. please its worthy to watch for Bta fans.. please its superhero related..superhero is trending now.. please watch the series.
