While doing my daily snooping on Facebook, I came across a post from the unofficial Facebook group "Marvel Cinematic Universe" and they posted the following:

"(Andrew) The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D fan site speculates J. August Richards' mystery character could be Ultimate Spider-Man's Miles Morales. Read the article here: http://agentsofshieldtv.com/agents-of-s-h-i-e-l-d-reveals-j-august-richards-as-miles-morales/

Marvel Studios own the Spider-Man television rights."

Read the source article and come to your own conclusions. The same questions the group ask, I will ask you: "Do they make some good points? Are their theories reaching?"

Its Victor Alvarez a/k/a Power Man.

@KingTrav33 The article brings out some great, solid points.

@Dumegg Hmmm...what makes you think this?

I saw a video interview with kevin feige ( at least , i think it was him)
And he started to metion Richards character name. All he got out
Was "p" then he smiled. So he gave a hint. before alot of people
Though it was Luke Cage, who is also Power Man, but Joss said
It wasnt him.
I figure Victor Alvarez is a minor character. You can play with his
Back story and nobody will care. I think in the comics alvarez
Absorbs chi and that gives him his power. Maybe on the show
He uses those chitauri arm bands to do it.

I guess it could also be Elvin Daryl Haliday a/k/a Rage.
They have similar powers. Rage had Chemicals spilled
On him and it gave him powers. Those Chitauri arm bands
Could be a better way to explain his powers.

I am puzzled at WHY Marvel did not get the jump on Sony and grab the rights to make a Spider-Man movie first?!?
WYLEEJAY

That would be because they didn't have their own studio. They gave the rights to Sony to make Spider man films. They can't get them back now. They do have the television rights though.

@Cresendo

Marvel was going bankrupt and needed cash fast to avoid going out of business. At this point Marvel was still only dealing with their comic books, so they sold the film rights to their major characters to different studios. It's a move that saved the company. It wasn't until Disney bought Marvel in 2009 that they became their own studio, able to make their own films.

So yeah, it sucks that Fox and Sony hold the rights to some major characters. But without it, Marvel wouldn't exist at all.

It's possible. In order to get extra film time for TASM, Sony gave Disney Spider-Man TV rights. Right now if they wanted to, Marvel Studios could have their own Spider-Man TV show that could be canon to the MCU if they wanted too.

It's possible he's Miles.

No not even close. Power Man is more likely

I bet Marvel is lamenting that Sony has the rights for sure.

Fox and Sony only hold the movie rights to Spiderman, Fantastic Four, and X-Men. Television rights are different, Marvel could launch television shows for all of them if they wanted.

superior spider-man is such a cool concept to me. too bad they did it to a hero with 50+ years of established history. imagine if this was his origin from the outset (don't get wrong im a peter parker fan to the core) a villain gains all the memories of the hero and tries to do good. thats cool. now, if they only didn't have to sacrifice one of the coolest characters ever...

miles is cool too. they should cancel the ultimate line but not before bringing over miles to be "spider-boy" (or something cooler) in the 616-verse.

who wants to see a "spider-men 2" with otto and miles? i do!

@Unibeam

Disney bought Marvel on August 31, 2009, for $4 billion. IronMan was the first film made by Marvel that they held the license to, but it was funded and distributed as part of six picture deal with Paramount. Avengers was really the first film that Marvel had complete autonomy, since Disney bought out the last two films in Paramounts contract.
