Adrianne Palicki is currently starring in the second season of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as comic book heroine Bobbi Morse/ Mockingbird. The actress is well known for her role's in the superhero genre with appearances on Smallvillle, the Aquaman pilot, G.I. Joe: Retaliation and NBC's Wonder Woman which the network failed to pick up. Despite playing characters with already formed fanbases, Palicki was just as nervous about taking on a part in Marvel's ever expanding universe as she reveals; 'It was incredibly exciting and very flattering when they came to me. But also nerve-wracking because having been through this before, the last thing I want to do is disappoint the fans. There’s such an amazing fanbase and they are the reason that Marvel’s as big as they are right now. There’s people out there going to the films and watching the show and so it’s always scary taking on a role like that because you don’t want to disappoint anybody but you also want to bring your own flare to the character. You try to find a balance, I think.'

Talk then turned to the movie side of Marvel, which reccently announced plans for its' third phase of films. With upcoming stories including Civil War and The Infinity Gauntlet could their be space for the small screen heroes to crossover and help save the day? Palicki says that 'the thing about comics is anything’s possible in them and to kind of have this open-end situation where it’s like she can go anywhere. We don’t know. I don’t know but just to have the ability or the possibility of that is really fun and interesting and hey even if I just end up playing her on Agents of SHIELD, that’s awesome enough because it’s been so much fun. '

Mockingbird, in the comics, has a well known patnership with archer and Avenger Hawkeye, who is portrayed by Jeremy Renner (American Hustle) in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The duo have a rich backstory that could be potentially explored on screen but Palicki confesses that she has yet to meet Jeremy Renner, adding, 'I’m a huge fan of his but yeah the Hawkeye/Mockingbird thing is huge. It’s one of the biggest parts of the character so I’m interested to see if that comes to fruition in the future. I hope it does.' Would you like to see Mockingbird on the big screen? Could she be part of Captain America's rumoured new vengers line up? Share your thought below in the comment section.

Mockingbird is a tie to Ka-zar and the Savageland. The "other" source of vibranium. kind of neat. Ka-Zar was one of the original scripts written back when Marvel officially took over the MCU.

No real ties to current stories, but eventually they lead to skrulls and secret invasion.

In reality it would be cool for someone to appear in the movie universe from the television show.

Repeating an old article, but I still like seeing that she acknowledges the relationship between Hawkeye and Mockingbird and wants to see it happen.

So the reason it took a while for her to be announced was because she was originally trying out for the role of Carol Danvers. But she was guaranteed that role where as she was given the role of Mockingbird. I hope her relationship with Hawkeye is explored.
