During the Television Critics Association press tour, popular comic book website Comicbookresources.com got a chance to talk to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D's Luke Mitchell, who plays the Inhuman Lincoln in the second season of the Marvel television series.
CBR took up the chance to ask Mitchell questions in regards to where we'll find Lincoln by the time season three of the show rolls around in September.
Upon being asked where we find Lincoln following the time jump in season three of AoS, Mitchell had this to say:
" That's a very good question. Look, I can't tell you much apart from what they've given me for my character. I mean, [Skye and Mac], they're kind of starting to look for new Inhumans, and I've kind of been searching for my own thing. I think at the end of Season Two and the climax there, it's more about Lincoln trying to work out who he is and where he stands, because he feels a bit betrayed by both sides. He doesn't know where he fits. The Lincoln who's been introduced in Season Two is going to be a very different Lincoln in Season Three, just in terms of -- the audience is introduced to him in a hierarchy of Inhumans. And that's like his safety net, his backbone. Just, like, a version of him. And now that he's been betrayed by that, you're going to be introduced to him outside of that, and he needs to work out where he stands and where his allegiances lie".
He then went on to discuss the possibility of learning about Lincoln's backstory in the upcoming season. "I hope so. It got hinted at a little bit at the end of Season Two. I'd love for there to be some backstory or some flashback episodes. I don't know, to be honest. I do know that there will be more information coming out about Lincoln, either not present or in the future -- hopefully, the past," before going to discuss where he stands with S.H.I.E.L.D, which isn't necessarily as friend or foe at this point, "I think he's in the gray area. Don't take this the wrong way, but I think he's dangerous in the sense that they don't know whether they can trust him, and I don't think he knows what to trust. So I think it's rocky. I think their relationship is rocky. S.H.I.E.L.D. needs to play their cards right, and Lincoln needs to work things out pretty quick and smart, yeah. I'm going to cut myself off before I say too much".
Mitchell went on to discuss other varying topics, such as Lincoln's relationship with Skye, studying comics for the role, and whether or not we can expect to see Lincoln show up in 2019's Inhumans movie, all of which you can check out in the link below.
