James Paxton has some huge teeth. Like The Mask tier Chiclets. It was kind of hard to focus on anything else when he was on screen, half expecting him to break out into a rendition of Cuban Pete.

Jiaying getting Man of Steel'd took me by surprise. Nat being the culmination of all the mistakes SHIELD has made is a decent touch. I prefer the less serious episodes over the more, but there's really no doubt the show is determined to go out on a high note.

Or maybe his head is just too small for them. I don't know.

Also wanted to add the "Deke Squad Mix Vol. 2" Easter Egg was a nice touch.

You all may not have noticed it but last nites events effectively erased or will erase shortly seasons 1-3. To one extent or another those seasons depended on either Garrett or Jiaying. The latter is dead (again) and the former will join her shortly. This takes the Terrigen release out of the MCU for the moment as well as Ward, Hive, Whitehall, Raina, and a few others.

Ignoring seasons with time travel and season 6 on general principles all they need to do to erase it all is to deal with the Darkhold and whoops, there goes the LMD's, the Framework, and the Ghost Rider storylines.

@Himura - If you had a point you failed to make it. That discussion had to do with the infinity stones. The AoS stuff doesn't.

Wow, what a crazy intense episode.

First, James Paxton did a really good job portraying a younger John Garrett, he brought that charisma and swagger that his father had and there were times where I could see his father shining through him.

Second, I did not expect to see Jiaying die. That was a rough death, just after Daisy finally got to reconnect with her mom, and I can't help but feel we will now get a "force unleashed" Daisy. Between her death, and Gordon's (also I was hoping there would be a joke about Gordon from season 2), the timeline is officially fcked. They are either in a different timeline, a la Avengers Endgame time travel logic, or they are going to have to pull some crazy shenanigans to reset everything to the way it was originally. I'm left in the dark as to how this will play out.

I was really worried about Fitz being dead, the beginning of the episode certainly made that seem to be the case, but the ending reaffirmed that he must still be alive- the Chronicoms wouldn't be going for someone that is dead. Also, pretty sure (based on some stuff I was reading online) that Fitz likely has their daughter with him. That's probably why Jemma looked so distraught, just a guess right now.

Just want the Agents to beat the shit out of Nathaniel (who has been a fine villain so far, he isn't a Ward or Aida or Kaecilius but he's a good foe so far) and Sybil.

@HeavyMetal4Life - honestly, nathaniel has started to grow on me. seems like he is having a lot of fun just screwing with everything and everyone.

when daisy started to power up and nate got all worried, i think we are going to see her go all out. he has had her powers about as long as she has had hers but she is the original and i think far more powerful. one thing i did notice this episode that i hadnt 2 episodes ago, is that it looks like nate has the same or similar gauntlets as daisy under the wrappings on his arms

@HeavyMetal4Life - Jiaying was killed before Daisy was born, and Daisy wasn't erased from existence. That's proof right there that they're following Endgame's time travel rules.

@MARVELFAN1995 - right... but Jiaying was already pregnant then, correct? She hasn't even met Daisy's father yet, which we learned last night was a result of her grieving over the death of Quora and traveling the world to cope. But you just had two characters, Jiaying and Gordon, that had important roles in the 2nd season, offed.

I do think though that yes, last night seemed to push the scale more towards them following a form of the Endgame time travel rules. I say a form, because everything that has happened in season 7 has clearly happened in the same timeline. Just doesn't seem likely that it is in the main MCU timeline.

@HeavyMetal4Life - They've been in an alternate timeline since the end of season 5, so I'm thinking this season will end with the agents jumping back to the main MCU timeline with some of them joining S.W.O.R.D.
HeavyMetal4Life

@MARVELFAN1995 - its possible, its something I've considered.
JDL
JDL - 7/31/2020, 6:17 PM
@MARVELFAN1995 - I disagree that they have been in an alternate time line since the end of S5. There is one line in 5x21 that was supposed to suggest the IW events were starting but the showrunners said some time back that that was no longer what that line was going to mean.

What they are otoh is out of sync. In other words the 2018 movie was in a different MCU year that the 2018 TV show. That's not different timelines.

@JDL - The Confederacy could've just used Thanos' name to trick the world into giving them the Gravitonium in exchange for help defending the planet. Thanos might've already been defeated in Wakanda by then in this other timeline.
