In light of the Sokovia Accords, and with Hydra obliterated, S.H.I.E.L.D. has been legitimatized again and no longer needs to operate in the shadows. Since the world presumes that Coulson is dead, the organization needed a new Director (Jason O’Mara) to be the face of the organization. Coulson finds himself back in the role as an agent and teamed with Mack (Henry Simmons), and together they are tasked with tracking down and confirming the presence of Enhanced people, aka Inhumans. They have been trying to track down and capture Daisy (Chloe Bennet), aka Quake, who has gone rogue in an attempt to atone for sins from the past. But with the world believing that Daisy is a dangerous outlaw who has taken down banks and bridges, the new Director has no qualms about taking her down for good. Agent May (Ming-Na Wen) is tasked with training specialist strike teams, and Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) and Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) have taken a big step forward in their relationship. But with Simmons’ new promotion as Special Advisor to the Director in Science and Technology, Fitz, as well as her former team members, finds it hard to confide in or trust her since she’s now the Director’s confidant.

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. features:
Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson
Ming-Na Wen as Melinda May
Chloe Bennet as Daisy Johnson/Quake
Iain De Caestecker as Leo Fitz
Elizabeth Henstridge as Jemma Simmons
Henry Simmons as Alphonso "Mack" MacKenzie
Natalia Cordova-Buckley as Elena "Yo-Yo" Rodriguez
Nick Blood as Lance Hunter

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns with an all-new episode January 12

@JDL - The fools are missing out, this is my number one comic book show, mainly because it has gotten better every single season.

@HeavyMetal4Life - The Fitz and Gemma curse continues - she did not hear his proposal. Will fitz be able to return to normal time, if there is a version of him sleeping in cryo simultaneously?

@hummingbird68 - "Clark Gregg did good."

Did he? I haven't watched it yet, I was really hoping he did a good job. From what I read they had a blast shooting it, but it exhausted him completely, which I have no trouble imagining lol The pressure must have been real.

i love how they are using fitz's experience in the framework. you could feel hydra fitz come out when he was talking about how kasius must keep control of the humans. was not surprised to see grill and ben go, but was shocked about tess. did not expect her to go like that.

@lemric - I kinda figured Ben would die, but Grill and Tess, I was not expecting at all. Looks like Clark Gregg who directed this episode has been spending way too much time with the Whedon's.

@hummingbird68 - well i figured from this point their only real option is to go planet side, so grills use was done. whether he lived or died, it didnt matter, but i figured they were done with him. but i was fully expecting tess to make it through this.

now i am wondering if the plan for flint is that it will be his job to put the earth back together. i doubt it would be something we would see, but like a parting goal to leave him with, assuming he survives of course(which considering this recent body count, isnt likely XD)

@lemric - Interesting theory about Flint - I haven't theorized much about him for the next few episodes, but he's one of the more powerful Nuhumans in the comics. I'm hoping to see the rock armour and him standing on a levitating stone visually.
I imagine Flint is going to want to avenge Tess, he'll maybe become a leader for his people if he survives (which i really hope he does)
In truth I'd like to see a way they could bring back Flint to our time, but I think that's unlikely.
