Meet 'Werner Von Strucker' In This New AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Featurette

Tuesday night's episode of Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. introduced a new Marvel Comics character: Werner von Strucker, eldest son of the deceased Baron Wolfgang Von Strucker. He's played by Unbreakable actor Spencer Clark, and you can find out more about him after the jump...

Thomas Kretschmann's Baron von Strucker may have met a fairly unremarkable end in Avengers: Age Of Ultron (something that's actually alluded to in the "Purpose in the Machine" ep of Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.), but it seems his legacy will live on with his son Werner, who was introduced on Tuesday night's installment of the Marvel TV series.

In the following featurette, actor Spencer Clark talks about the character, and reveals his excitement at the prospect of joining the series.

"I'm really excited to be on the show because not only am I a fan of Marvel and the Marvel universe but I'm a fan of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. It was super-exciting to come out and hang out with these guys and to get to be a part of it. I play Werner Von Strucker, obviously his father is Baron Wolfgang Von Strucker, who was a Hydra leader. Alexander and his father had a strained relationship but this is his attempt to reconcile the death of his father and sort of prove himself as an individual."

Will Von Strucker Jr. and Ward manage to make HYDRA great again? See how they get on by tuning into a brand new episode of Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. next Tuesday night.

This character is such a D-bag, but in a good way. Could easily become the Joffrey of this series.

Am I the only one who notices who big his pupils seem to be?

Another very good ep. Ward is emerging as Marvel's best villain... not that it'd be too hard:)

@DonDave Thought so as well, but I checked photos of him in real life, and it seems he has natural big pupils :(. Not foreshadowing of a some power.

Baron von Strucker ... man, what a waste of a good comic book character and terrific actor on Marvel's part!

@KurtWagner1225:

I am not liking where it is going. Seems like an inevitable death to Dr.Garner. I don't want him to die...

@KurtWagner1225: And in this season, he seems to have a big hand in the formation of secret warriors. Daisy needs a mdntor, also who could analyze her needs, and also keep a tab on every Shield member.

I feel he brings the human side of not only May, but also to the entire Shield itself.

Hence, I feel that its either him or May, who is gonna die a horrible death.

When i first saw AOU i wondered why they killed off Baron Wolfgang von Strucker for no apparent reason it didn't move the plot of the movie but now i get it. It was for moving the plot of AOS. They wanted a big bad from the Marvel universe Kretchsman im guessing would be too expensive and/or busy but a jr Von Strucker would be cheaper and they can develop his character on the show and if they want to bring Wolfgang back it would be easier on the show instead of the movies because the cinematic Universe is already mapped out. The Baron Struckers were meant for tv.

Just calling it as big screen helping out the small screen.

Yup, Dr Garner is headed for the boneyard. Bank on it.

GREAT second episode. Some of the May scenes were a little dull, but character development can sometimes be that way. Simmons' rescue was incredible! Can't wait to learn what she saw on the alien planet/in the other dimension, whichever was the case.

And loved when Ward said, "I brought tacos..."

@LubedUp:Flash's premiere was underwhelming, but better than Arrow. AoS still tops them.
AoS>Flash>Arrow.

But next week is where Flash could top AoS because of next week AoS doesn't seems as great.

AOS is so good now. And i like how the Von Strucker arc isn't completely over since his son will succeed him.
