THEORY: "4,722 Hours" - AOS: Does 'Death' Make Her Debut?

Here's my short and sweet theory. Hit the jump to see my wild speculation!

I've been thinking it over after last nights fantastic episode on this "evil" alien planet. Does Death make her / (its) first appearance in the cinematic universe? Lets look at what we were given last night in the episode.

Will Daniels refers to the 'entity' as Death, this entity (I believe) controls the planet, hence Daniels emission that the planet is 'alive'. The entity is able to shape-shift, but 'revealed' itself at first as a cloaked figure to Simmons, which Death is known for appear as.. He also reference it as being "Hell" a couple times. He also noted that the entity 'gets inside your head' and makes you go insane.

What do you think/believe? I'm at odds.. Could it really be Death and could this be her realm? Its possible since they boldly introduced the inhumans race on the show. Death has been mentioned in The Avengers, and seen in GOTG. The GOTG 'Art of' Book describes Death as: "Death embodies decay and can possess the soul of a living being. Often taking the form of a woman, Death can manipulate reality, time, and space, and can come into existence at the same time as Entropy, Eternity, and Infinity. Immortals are immune to death's ability. Death represents vengeance."

I don't think it's Death. I do think there is a twist in the wotks. Something isn't what it seems on the planet, either Will isn't really "Will" or the planet is hiding a great secret. What ever it is I hope it's awesome because the episode was great and the potential is just off the charts.

Ugh, I wish I could see the MCU in my head on screen

I'm positive that everybody feels that way though, haha

I really hope we see Death, and I hope we see Mephisto too

I'm also hoping for Thanos and The Black Order but I doubt it will happen, and Warlock, Warlock needs to debut in the MCU soon

And, Surtur, that would be awesome

EricBorder - Yes to everything you said! All of these guys need to appear in the MCU! Especially Warlock, hopefully Gunn doesn't f us over and not include Warlock in GotG Vol 2.

Nice theory!

The figure appears as a hooded/cloaked person to Gemma and also as a Spaceman later on so I assume they are a vision or a shapeshifter...?

Totally, haha, Warlock needs to happen, imo, the Thanos/Warlock dynamic is crucial to both characters

Yeah man, right on.

I just hope that they really start bringing some of these characters into the movies, those characters are too good to be left out, imo

I really hope that Thanos will be awesome, Thanos has so much potential, and seeing Thanos and Mephisto on screen would be awesome

I doubt that that is Death. I think its Kree that is feeding on human emotions. I can say there's so many directions they can go in on this planet, but I see there being a lot left on the table, like the rest of the MCU.

Exactly, I feel the same way about Black Order. I think your talking about that other cat, CapASux or whatever, (hate that username, haha) but he's always talking about Marvel and CGI

I think they could definitely pull off Black Order and like your saying it would fit perfectly, and really add a lot of depth to Thanos

I really hope we see Mephisto too, I love that dynamic between Mephisto and Thanos from the original Infinity Gauntlet comic, and it would be cool to switch it up even, and have Thanos figure out Mephisto's plan early on

But, would love to see Mephisto as that really deceitful/disloyal character that tries to mess with Thanos and then have Thanos make an example of him or something

Oh totally, haha, I'm with you there, that's why I'm really digging everything I've seen about Enchantress so far, I feel like Doctor Strange could be amazing as long as they shoot straight too, like your saying, magic is magic, actually I'm really interested to see how they approach Wonder Woman for the same reason

I think Hemsworth is awesome as Thor, they just haven't really found their stride with him yet, for me, at least, I don't think the Thor movies have been bad, I just feel like he's one of the characters that Marvel has trouble figuring out how to utilize for whatever reason, and I think a lot of it has to do with not embracing things for what they are, if that makes sense

I totally agree about Pym too, Douglas was great too, I liked the scenes they had in Ant-Man but I just didn't connect with the mythology as much as I hoped I would, and that's because Pym and Janet just draw me in, the best part of Ant-Man for me was that flashback scene with Pym and Janet, but I mean, seeing a young Pym in his lab would have probably gave me goosebumps

Oh yeah, definitely, I hear you, and Feige needs to read this type of stuff and respond, I would love to hear him reply in an interview and really get more of a sense of what he's thinking, especially about Doctor Strange

Because I think he said that Doctor Strange is his favorite character, so I want to hear more about what's going on in his head

Yeah, Scarlet Witch is cool, I really don't think we got full on "Whedon Scarlet Witch" either, but that's a whole different story, I want a Whedon X-Men movie eventually, that could line up perfectly in my mind

I'm all about the crazies though, that's what really draws me in, that's why I really wanted to see Pym's arc and character explored

I'm a big Joker fan, haha, (My username gives that away) but I love all of that stuff, and contrasting characteristics within the same person, like how Joker can understand people extremely well but at that same time he's completely insane. Same goes for Harley, that Joker/Harley dynamic is going to be amazing to see on screen, I love how she was actually Dr. Harleen Frances Quinzel, M.D before Joker turned her

I really hope we get a Nemesis comic adaptation too, that would be amazing

True, right on

I just meant it would be interesting, I would love to see an unhinged Feige and have a few drinks with him, that's kind of what I meant

Because the guy always hold himself up so well in interviews and in the press, he's got that almost political vibe to him, where it's hard to tell when he's being totally sincere or if he's just telling us what we want to hear

I mean, that's the business anyway, so I don't blame him at all, I would just love to hear him talk about the characters in a different tone or in a different environment other than a press tour, if that makes sense
