UPDATE: Travis Love To Play 'Taskmaster' In Joss Whedon's AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Pilot?

The Walking Dead actor will reportedly star in the pilot episode of Joss Whedon and Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as Tony Masters. Those of you who are comic book fans may realise that that's the real name of none other than the villainous 'Taskmaster'! Read on for details.

He played the mostly silent and extremely deadly henchman of 'The Governor' in season three of The Walking Dead, but S.H.I.E.L.D. TV (via @Marvel_Freshman) now reports that Travis Love has signed up for a role - or has presumably already shot it - in Joss Whedon's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. pilot as 'Tony Masters'. Why should you care? Well, Masters was a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent whose photographic memory meant that he could watch and duplicate the movements of someone with little to no effort. It was this that led him to become the mercenary known as TASKMASTER; a villain who has given the likes of Captain America, Daredevil and Spider-Man a run for their money when it comes to hand to hand combat! His exact role in the ABC series remains to be seen...

UPDATE: We've been duped! It turns out that this particular piece of news originated from IMDb and ABC has since confirmed that Love is NOT playing Tony Masters, a.k.a. Taskmaster.

@MARVELPSYCHO79 Well, I see this show as an experiment. They introduce characters that are way too much of a gamble to use in films, and if they are received well, they'll be introduced later in future films.

And hell yes! This dude is very brooding and bulky; Very menacing. He'll do terrific. Also, Taskmaster's involvement could lead to encounters with Murdock and Marvel now has the rights to him so... #HintHintMarvel

The Taskmaster 1st appearance was in Avengers Vol 1 #195 (May issue 1980)

The Terminator aka Deathstroke 1st appearance New Teen Titans Vol 1 #2 (December issue 1980)

The Taskmaster is 7 months older you need to reverse that Jollem.

Should have used Taskmaster for a future movie as a contingency plan to use against The Avengers if they go rogue, he isn't called contingency T for nothing

@Malcopunch

Modok is better when he's an Iron Man villian as opposed to a Captain America villian, doesn't mesh or fit in with the MCU's Captain America, Modok is a Cyborg and tech based villian, that's what Iron Man also comes under, so it works better.
