The two-hour series premiere for the latest Marvel drama Cloak & Dagger just aired on Freeform, and it provided us with an expansive look at the first live-action adaptation of the Marvel characters. This includes showing us the divine pairing’s tragic backstory and the event that seemingly granted them their powers.

Still, while the premiere saw the young heroes grapple with their unique abilities and meet each other a few times, their transformation into the costumed duo we are familiar with in the comics is still ongoing.

This heroic journey, as the preview for next week’s episode reveals, will see Tyrone (Aubrey Joseph) attempt to figure out what's happening to him, all the while Tandy (Olivia Holt) continues to deal with the fact that she is wanted by the police.

Check out the exciting promo for the series’ third episode below:

Tandy is on the run as Detective O’Reilly closes in on her, but the detective may not be after her for the reasons Tandy thinks. Tyrone is desperate for answers and turns to Evita and her Auntie Clarisse, a Voodoo priestess, for help.

Its pretty good so far. Actually, very good. I was surprised. I thought it would just be solid. Leads have amazimg chemistry and its quite faithful to the comics.

Also, this show is DARK. Surprisingly dark. And its not afraid to explore some really poignant themes.

8.5/10 so far

Def was not expecting to like this but gotta say that was pretty damn good. Had low expectations because I thought it would be light hearted because of the channel. Man was i wrong. Also don’t know much about the characters going in so my hype level was minimum. The actors are way better than I expected too. Especially the guy playing cloak, very good actor never thought I’d compliment someone on their voice but that dudes got it. I’ll be tuning in next week.

Damn. I missed the premiere. Was this any good? What the hell, I'm and MCU completest. I'll watch it anyways.

Yeah, i think i'm gonna have to go against the grain i guess, and say that...shit was hard to watch! :/
I know i'm not the target, this shit is as "Teen drama" as it can get, but i low key enjoyed Runaways so i figured....why not?
Actually, i follow everything that's connected with the MCU, i'm crazy like that, hopefully it'll get better, cause the acting sucks, and don't get me started on those CW moments, actually worse than Black Lightning.

I was very impressed by the premiere. It is much stronger out of the gate than Runaways was.

I didn't mind the teen drama aspects of the show as I felt they were trying to frame it in a certain way contrasting with what is really more important to the characters. Like "Here are the trappings of teen drama. Now here is how much these characters are finding out that doesn't matter to their actual lives." Especially for Tyrone.

I was surprised by the choice to make Tandy's boyfriend not an archetypal bad-influence shithead. Making him a loyal, caring person just makes her running away hurt that much more. And I approve.
