Marvel and Freeform’s Cloak & Dagger has proven to be a big surprise for audiences, earning plenty of praise from fans and critics alike. In response, a new promo has been released, focusing on the numerous positive reviews the show received.

Aside from this, the promo takes the opportunity to show off some new exciting footage of the heroic duo. One of the biggest moments in the video is a brief shot of Tyrone donning his cloak, which was teased heavily in last week’s episode. Whether this means we can expect Tyrone to regularly use the comic accurate cloak remains to be seen.

Another cool moment from the promo includes a look at the divine pairing combining their powers in a spectacular fashion, something that's been less than pleasant for them during their first few meetings..

Check out the thrilling new promo below:

Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger is the story of Tandy Bowen (Olivia Holt) and Tyrone Johnson (Aubrey Joseph) – two teenagers from very different backgrounds, who find themselves burdened and awakened to newly acquired superpowers which are mysteriously linked to one another. Tandy can emit light daggers and Tyrone has the ability to engulf others in darkness. They quickly learn they are better together than apart, but their feelings for each other make their already complicated world even more challenging.

The Marvel drama airs Thursday nights at 8:00 p.m. EDT on Freeform.

@AbidNaga - So far so good. Story been pretty good so far, the actors are far better than I expected as well.

@AbidNaga - It's good. Not quite as capable as Legion when it comes to the mind-bending and the visuals, and a shade slower than I'd like, but it's definitely a strong series. The leads are good. Possibly even great, but the material hasn't given them the room to show it yet.

@AbidNaga -

It's actually a good show.
I was surprised how good it was.

At first I was hesitant because of the changes (Tandy is now the street-smart survivor) but they work SO well I think they should ret-con that in.

@Spock0Clock -

Well yes, but comparing it to Legion is a bit unfair considering the differences and target audience, but you're right it isn't visually in that league. I'd also probably agree with the scripting being a slow burn (it's only recently ramped up) as compared to Legion season one but season two felt like they dragged out a simple premise way longer than it needed to be.

There was so much filler and extraneousness for this 10 episode scavenger hunt that it became clear eventually that the writers really didn't know how to make it work. Even the twist ending was predictable and unrealistic. Characters suddenly and weirdly became the opposite of what they were just to make the twist work.

Right now Cloak and Dagger is much better in regards to consistency even at a slower pace.

I think they said it was highly rated at premiere, and apparently well-reviewed as well. Good for them. It's definitely on the stronger end of Marvel's TV fare and I hope we'll get more of them going forward (although Cloak and Dagger never really gripped me as a solo ongoing, so I wonder if they can be the first Marvel TV characters to start making some cameos elsewhere...)

And moreover, be a sign that there is still more gas in the tank for the TV stuff. Felt like it was stagnating a bit recently.

It's been alright so far. So much better than Runaways, much more mature and interesting. The strongest part is the two leads, I think they are doing a good job.

One of my biggest gripes is how it is shot and cut together. At least in the first few episodes, I hated how it transitioned between scenes. I also think at times it's pretty boring. I usually watch it in the background while I'm doing other stuff.

There are Punisher, Runaways and Cloak & Dagger TV shows, all of which have been very well received and I haven't seen a single episode of any of them.

Need to change this ASAP

@OmegaDaGrodd - Punisher's the best out of what you named.

@OmegaDaGrodd - You need to watch Punisher, like yesterday. Runaways, you can skip that.
