Last year, God of War art director Raf Grassetti shared some awesome designs for characters from the classic Batman: The Animated Series to his Instagram page, and he followed those up with his interpretations of some of the most popular mutant heroes from Marvel Comics' X-Men.

Now, Grassetti has brought us his take on Marvel's Moon Knight.

The Fist of Knonshu will make his live-action debut in the upcoming Disney+ series, with Oscar Isaac taking on the lead role of troubled former marine, Marc Spector. It'll probably be a while before we get to see the Star Wars actor suited-up as the titular vigilante, but Marvel would be smart to look to Grassetti's design for inspiration.

Marvel's Moon Knight has Cairo 678 director Mohamed Diab on board, and we recently found out that the Disney+ series has also enlisted Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead (The Endless, Synchronic) to helm additional episodes. Jeremy Slater (The Umbrella Academy; The Exorcist) will serve as showrunner, and is leading the show's writing team.

Plot details are still under wraps, but the small-screen adaptation is expected to stick pretty close to the basic premise of the comic, with Marc Spector, a highly skilled mercenary who has numerous alter-egos, channelling the power of the Egyptian moon god Khonshu to fight crime in LA.

A recent synopsis stated that "the action-adventure features a complex vigilante who suffers from dissociative identity disorder. The multiple identities who live inside him are distinct characters who appear against a backdrop of Egyptian iconography."

Moon Knight is expected to begin shooting in Budapest this March.

This is one character that can succeed without an over-designed rubber suit.

@BillyBatson1000 - yeah. Some compression clothes with a bullet proof vest should work nicely. Maybe bloodstained so the point of his mental state is in question.

@Origame - The whole dissociative personality to the fore. Hero/anti-hero. Always doubting his motives.

@Origame - Come on guys...let’s have a comic accurate costume. No more DareDevil or even worse, Iron Fist “costumes”.

@Superfan1 - if anything my suggestion is closer to a comic accurate suit than what this is.

I’m not too familiar with the character but the suit design is pretty sweet.

@Cbmfilmjunkie - basically he's the kind of character who would actually become a superhero, with split personality and all. There was stuff about an Egyptian moon God choosing him, but its never made clear if there's an actual God telling him what to do or if its another personality.

I never read very much moon knight, mostly only saw him pop up in crossovers but I think I’m more excited for this than any of the upcoming series or movies.

As one of the characters I really don’t have a prior attachment to I’m so excited to see where this goes

Every episode should feature a different look. Marc Spector, Moon Knight, Jake Lockley, Mr Knight. Show 'em all.

Nice piece of art but Oscar would have to get taller and put on 30 lbs of mass to look like that.
