THE MANDALORIAN Star Ming-Na Wen Confirms That Fennec Shand Will Return In Animated Series THE BAD BATCH

Ming-Na Wen made a surprise return as Fennec Shand in season two of The Mandalorian, and the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. star has now confirmed that she'll return in The Clone Wars spinoff, The Bad Batch...

One of The Mandalorian's most memorable season one guest stars was Ming-Na Wen's Fennec Shand, an assassin who crossed paths with Din Djarin on Tatooine. After being saved by Boba Fett, Fennec is back among the living and part of the crew hoping to help Din rescue Grogu from Moff Gideon.

There are big plans for the character moving forward, as Wen is set to reprise the role in The Clone Wars spinoff series, The Bad Batch. Some eagle-eyed fans spotted her in that first sneak peek, and the actress now tells StarWars.com about getting the chance to return as Fennec in animated form.

"She’s cutting her teeth as a bounty hunter in The Bad Batch," Wen explains when asked what fans can expect from the younger Fennec. "She’s still a loner, a drifter. There’s just a sense of more recklessness about her, just bravado. You know, a young punk. She’s more adventurous and willing to take greater risks because she doesn’t know what the consequences are."

As for what we've seen from the character in The Mandalorian, Wen expanded on Fennec's decision to work with Boba Fett.

"I think that’s a huge transition for her and I think also more vulnerable, a little bit. You don’t see it, but for me - in my mind, in my head - once you’ve died, once you’ve been killed, it takes a little bit of that edge off of feeling like you can get out of anything."

"So I think she’s also just trying to figure out how best to play the new game. She’s always playing a bit of chess here and there, figuring things out. But, ultimately, at this point in her life she’s still quite the mercenary."

Can Din, and Boba for that matter, trust her? It seems we'll have to wait and see.

The scrapyard we visited at the start of the episode was full of Imperial TIE Fighters, AT-STs, and more. Clearly, we're looking at the remnants of Palpatine's forces following the Galactic Civil War.

One of the coolest reveals in last week's episode of The Mandalorian was the fact that Mayfeld was part of Operation Cinder. You'll be familiar with that if you've play Star Wars Battlefront 2, though.

It appears this chase sequence was originally going to take place on a hillside, and that certainly would have upped the stakes. However, it also would have been a logistical nightmare to shoot.

Seeing Cara Dune and Fennec Shand fighting side-by-side was awesome, though it is a shame we never got to see them in a setting like this, gunning down the Stormtroopers around them.

Din Djarin used Moff Gideon's words against him in that final scene, and the stage has now been set for an epic confrontation. Something tells us that Beskar spear will come in handy against the Darksaber...

So she is also gonna voice the character again. Pretty sweet both character and actress return. I'm also kinda hoping we get to see her in the Rangers show.

Don't think there is anything she is in that I won't watch. I'm too old to be crushing on someone, but what can I say?

The interesting thing is she’s likely older than Boba. By the end of Revenge of the Sith, he would be in his early teens. She looks to be late teens? Bad Batch looks to be about 25 years before Mando.
