THE HAUNTING OF BLY MANOR Star Rahul Kohli Clears Up Those Ezra Bridger In THE MANDALORIAN Rumors

Earlier this year, iZombie alum Rahul Kohl started teasing fans about the possibility that he had been cast as a live-action Ezra Bridger in the upcoming second season of The Mandalorian

There have been rumours about the missing Jedi making his Disney+ debut for a while now. Remember, Star Wars Rebels ended with Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren - two characters it's believed we'll see in The Mandalorian come October 30th - setting off to find their friend.

As for Kohl, he hasn't actually auditioned for the role and, as expected, was just toying with fans.

"I was trolling. I heard rumors that there was a casting call looking for a live-action Ezra that was looking for Asian actors in their late twenties, early thirties," The Haunting of Bly Manor star told Inverse during a recent interview. "I had watched a bit of Rebels that morning, so it was fresh in my mind. I was going to the gym and I thought I'd fire off a cheeky tweet."

Admitting that he wasn't expecting the headlines his Tweet generated, Kohl acknowledged that he was appreciative of the support from fans for him to be cast as a live-action version of Ezra.

"[When] that Ezra stuff went out, the outpouring of support, positivity, and celebration felt so good. It sucked that it was b*llocks, but it just made me say, 'This fandom is awesome.' The fanart came out, even people who knew I was trolling weren't upset. I found that really refreshing after what's happened in recent years. If this were a real announcement, it wasn't met with any kind of racism, just complete and utter joy. It was lovely. It was just a shame it was bullsh*t."

There's no denying that Kohl would be a great pick to play Ezra, but it sounds like the plan is to pick up with that character in an animated sequel series that'll take place after the events of Star Wars Rebels.

Rahul seems like a cool guy and all but I can really only see one person as Ezra and that's Dev Patel.

Dev Patel is still the top choice for live-action Ezra IMO, but Kohli would definitely be a good pick. I only really know him from Bly Manor, but he was great there.

His storyline in Bly Manor was heartbreaking. So glad he got to chew into a role like that after iZombie.
