Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order, one of this year's most anticipated video games, is rapidly approaching its July release date for Nintendo Switch. As such, the long-awaited next installment in the beloved action role-playing series is the cover title for the June issue of GameInformer magazine.

The publication, which is available now digitally and should be arriving soon in physical form, offers the most in-depth look yet at Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 - including gameplay impressions, character leveling and progression, endgame activities, Infinity trials game mode, and more.

As the main feature of the June issue, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 has also received some gorgeous cover art. On the left (back), we see Thanos and his ruthless warmasters, The Black Order, who seek to obtain the Infinity Stones. On the right (front), we get a glimpse of what is presumed to be some of the game's playable heroes. Included amongst the roster, which GameInformer says is "well over two dozen names long," is Black Panther, Deadpool, Miles Morales, Star-Lord, Wolverine, Captain Marvel, Venom, Spider-Gwen, Hulk, Hawkeye, and more.

Other characters not necessarily featured on the cover, but seen in previously released screenshots include Captain America, Nick Fury, Thor, Black Widow, Gamora, and plenty of other fan-favorites. Basically, the game will offer an assortment of playable characters that pulls from The Avengers, X-Men, Guardians of the Galaxy, Spider-Verse, Defenders, and Inhumans.

In addition to the details offered in the magazine, GameInformer has exclusively revealed two new playable heroes: Hawkeye and Ms. Marvel (Kamala Khan). Hawkeye wields his signature bow-and-arrow and "brings a versatile array of ranged attacks to the table," while also offering flexibility in gameplay as "he takes out enemies through a variety of precision arrow shots and explosions." Ms. Marvel stretches and and enlarges parts of her body to "bash the bad guys with oversized fists and feet."

In addition to all of the exciting new gameplay details, it sounds like GameInformer, who flew out to Nintendo's HQ, will also explain why Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 is a Nintendo Switch exclusive.

In this new storyline, heroes and villains unite in a race across the Marvel Universe to find the Infinity Stones before Thanos and The Black Order use them to unleash cosmic chaos. From Avengers Tower to the X-Mansion and beyond, every stop on the dangerous quest to thwart Thanos results in unexpected collisions of fan-favorite characters and iconic locations.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order releases for Nintendo Switch on July 19, 2019.

There are so many heroes in Marvel’s catalog and they insult us with a number such as 24.

@PantherKing - Because the Switch is trash. And im positive the other Marvel video games in the pipeline want to use other heroes not associated with other games.

@CaptainAmerica - No pumpkin. I'm a switch owner who barely plays the switch because of how uncomfortable it is. I bought to play on the go and find myself never taking it with me because it's clunky. I bought 2 more joycons to play SSB with friends on the smaller screen and I stopped after 15min because my eyes started hurting. At home I game with my PS4. I have little to no use for my switch anymore. Especially since games are still not crossplatform. (Except rocket league).

Has much as I loved Endgame I thought Time Travel was cheating. The Avengers should fought Thanos straight up and took the Stones.

No F4 is disappointing. Also, when are Antman, Wasp, and Vision finally going to be playable in one of these?
