VIDEO GAMES: Both MARVEL: ULTIMATE ALLIANCE 1 & 2 May Be Getting Remastered For Current-Gen Systems

Hot on the heels of the Spider-Man PS4 news, we've just received word that remastered versions of Marvel: Ultimate Alliance & Ultimate Alliance 2 are heading to the PS4 & Xbox One much sooner than later.

In lieu of a third entry in the Marvel: Ultimate Alliance series, it looks like Activision will instead be releasing remastered versions of the first two installments for the Playstation 4 and the Xbox One.

Gaming website Gematsu has discovered that the Taiwan Game Software Rating Information Board has listed both Marvel: Ultimate Alliance and its sequel Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 on their website with both receiving auxiliary ratings of 12 and with Activision Europe attached as the publisher and distributor. No release date was posted for either, but a late 2016 release is certainly not out of the question. In addition to those two titles, Transformers: Fall of Cybertron was also listed for a current gen remaster.

The original Ultimate Alliance was released to critical acclaim back in October 2006 and having been developed by Raven Software, was more or less a spiritual successor to X-Men Legends and X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse. Vicarious Visions developed the sequel, which released back in September 2009, and also received a similar positive reaction.

So, what do you guys think? Sound off with your thoughts below!

I was going to write this but couldn't think of a way to write this unbiasly because [frick] Activision.

Activision is remastering Marvel Ulitmate Alliance 1 & 2 because Marvel is a hot brand now and they aren't allowed to make any new Marvel games because they don't have the license even though they haven't made anything worthwhile since X-Men Origins: Wolverine (yea the movie sucked but the game was awesome). This really is nothing but a cheap cashgrab like how Activision remastered Deadpool. All you'll get is some improved graphics and that's all. Probably not even that improved graphics wise. A lot of time won't be going into these games being remastered.

Yea you could say WB Games is doing the same thing with Batman: Return to Arkham except those games won numerous game of the year awards and are regarded as 2 of the best video games of all time. More importantly they are being remastered on the Unreal Engine 4 whereas they were originally made on Unreal Engine 3. Even Batman: Arkham Knight was made on the Unreal Engine 3. So WB Games is actually rebuilding the game from the ground up. Activision is just going to lazily remaster this game in hopes that people buy it because it's Marvel. Activision choose not to put these games on Backwards Compatability because they rather cheaply make a remaster and sell it at full price. Probably because now everybody is hating Call of Duty: Infinity Warfare and pre-orders are seriously low compared to last year's Call of Duty.

It will be great to see Call of Duty fall because of Activision's greed at how they milk it just like they milked Marvel games which lead to Marvel gaming's downfall, Guitar Hero games which lead to their downfall, Tony Hawk games which lead to their downfall, and so much more.

Just don't buy this and wait for PS4's Spider-Man. Anyone who thinks this is at all worth getting rather than replaying them on the 360 or PS3.

@LEVITIKUZ - Completely Agree. It's sad but true.

@LEVITIKUZ - I am actually looking forward to this just because I have wanted them in my digital library for years.

@LEVITIKUZ - But i no longer own a ps3 or 360. And if its remastered and comes with all the dlc I'll get it as a time killer.

I really liked the first one (I bought the second one for ps3 but it wasn't as fun). Although I was playing as Thing and I smashed Lady Deathstrike right through the wall. And had to reset the level because I apparently found a hole in the level design. -_-;

But I still really like the game! It's the reason I started playing Marvel Heroes on PC. If they remaster it, I would consider picking it up. I had o.c.d. about destroying the environments and collecting coins. Curse would chase me around the map as I punched boxes for health pick ups.

Yeah, UA2 was pure doo-doo. Ultimate Alliance 1 was fantastic, where's Xmen Legends 1+2 at??

I can't believe how lazy they got with 2. They thought they could hide behind the Civil War hype at the time.

MUA1 is pure memories, so goddamn fun. Even the little things like doing the trivia(s) with my nephew (who knew his shit).

@Vaportrail - if they're smart and doing what square enix is going, they'll pump it out on steam for like $13. All those final fantasy games being dumped on steam is easy money

I want a Wolverine Origins remastered, never played it, now that i have a ps4 i want to play that game!

@Doomsday8888 - I played it when it came out. It was pretty decent for a movie tie in game. The most incredible thing was the healing of Wolverine in the game. I'm sure if I went back and played it is wouldn't be impressed with it.
