First Official WARCRAFT Stills Introduce Robert Kazinsky's 'Orgrim'

The first couple of images from Duncan Jones' (Moon) live-action adaptation of the World Of Warcraft video game series have been released, and give us a great look at Orc warrior Orgrim.

Orgrim Doomhammer, to give him his full name, will be brought to life by the masterminds at Industrial Light and Magic and actor Robert Kazinsky. "We were looking for someone who would be able to perform the gruffness, the humor, and the toughness of this character," director Duncan Jones tells Wired.com. The hope is that this Orc warrior will turn out to be the most lifelike CGI creation audiences will have seen. “We’ve gone beyond the point where these are just creatures in movies,” Jones adds. “We now have the technology and the ability to make new characters entirely.” Warcraft hits theaters June 10, 2016.

It looks an Orc from a CG trailer for WoW, I was expecting it to look better probably will towards the release

Why is this CGI?? What happened to the art of prosthetics? Seriously, filmmakers have become so lazy about CGI that I honestly don't think the talent required to bring something to life with makeup still exists. Compare The Wolfman to Rick Baker's earlier work (American Werewolf in London for one) - it looks absolutely terrible. A crying shame, because makeup used to be a real art.

I'm not a huge fan of WOW (hate turn based gameplay) but I've always been interested in the lore. Looks like 2016 might also be the year we start getting GOOD video game movies with Warcraft, Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank, Sly Cooper, and Assassins Creed! God knows it won't be this year with that abysmal looking Hitman film.

The first two game didn't really focus on story much but Warcraft 3 and its expansion pack had a pretty Game of Thronsian story with lots of interesting characters ranging from kings to ordinary soldiers. Its probably got the best storyline of any RTS series bar maybe Command & Conquer or Starcraft.

Why is this CGI? Because the Orcs in Warcraft are [frick]ing huge that's why! Not everything can be solved with practical effects.

Some people here complaining about the CGI, honestly I think this looks great! The amount of detail looks impressive. Coming from a technological background, I've always found CGI to be as interesting if not more than practical. Just to see how far we've come from with effects, it's pretty exciting.

Huge fan of WoW (still playing the game at regular basis when I got some time), sadly the game go downhill since 2 patch ago, I really want a LoL movie.

They didn't give a reason unfortunately, although it's pretty weird that they would move this into the heart of the summer movie season.
