5 Actors We Think They'll Suck but Won't, In Future Comicbook Movies !

Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Michael B. Jordan... When they were casted as comicbook characters, they were hated by all. Let them be our favorite character ! Don’t screw them !! They’re good actors !!! Here's my list of actors who doesn't deserve this negative wave.

When a superhero movie is coming, fans wait for a cast announcement, sometimes it's good and we like it but sometimes it's bad and we scream for killing the cast director. ^^
I've made a list of actors that we think they will suck but in fact they'll rock it.

  1. The Flash - Ezra Miller (Justice League : Part 1, 2017)

Why people thinking he’s a terrible choice :
Ezra Miller is an independent actor, auto-claimed as a bisexual. When he was cast as The Flash, everyone was chocked, especially days after the first episode of CW’s The Flash (starring Grant Gustin). Many homophobic reactions like : “Nic e ! a gay hipster Flash, thanks Warner Bros..” You're welcome trolls.

Why he’s the best choice for playing the Flash: Ezra Miller is a good actor and every actor evolves. He can be a cool, funny, lighter or a arrogant, serious, darker Flash. Maybe Ezra will be Barry Allen’s nephew Wally West, taking the mantle, so that let a chance to Grant Gustin to appear in the DCU, I dunno. Anyway Ezra Miller fits perfectly in the red suit as the fastest man alive and will totally surprise us.
  1. Human Torch - Michael B. Jordan (Fantastic Four, 2015)

Why he’s the perfect choice for Human Torch:
Jonny Storm playd by an afro-american that sucks!! Why not Black Panther or Luke Cage be played by a white actor!! Screw you Fox!!” (sigh) My word to all racist, involved trolls is “[frick] You”. Michael B. Jordan proved many times he can act, see Fruitvale Station or Chronicle. Michael playing the Human Torch makes sense; he fits with Johnny’s temperament, he has his cool attitude, he’s egocentric and a little bit selfish. If they’re racist comments or bad critical against him, screw you! :D
  1. Wonder Woman - Gal Gadot (Batman v Superman : Dawn Of Justice, 2016)

Why people are thinking she’s a terrible choice : Well the fans felt Gal Gadot ,the hottest girl of Israel, is too “skinny” to fit in this role. Many fan castings see Wonder Woman played by Gina Carano or Cobie Smulders (or many others), seeing Wonder Woman as a top-model was a little weird. But the real question was: How bring Wonder Woman in a movie focused on the meeting of the two greatest heroes of all-time.

Why she’s a good choice for Wonder Woman:  As a “Miss”, she proves she can handle the role with perfection. She’s smart, pretty and has a little side of mysterious. When you put her alongside Ben Affleck and Henri Cavill, you see she complete the Trinity with perfection. I don’t know why but she deserves to be the badass Wonder Woman we need.
  1. Deadshot - Will Smith (Suicide Squad, 2016)

Why people are thinking he’s a terrible choice :
When the cast was announced, everybody thought Will Smith to be a masked Black Manta. Now, we learn that he'll play the cold-blood assassin sniper Deadshot. Fans' reaction could be the same just like Michael B. Jordan's but no… Fans (especially me) were afraid of the “Will Smith playing Will Smith as the now good guy Deadshot in Will Smith’s Suicide Squad”.

Why he’s the best choice for playing Deadshot: The Suicide Squad needs a lead, Will Smith can bring audience for a team unrelated to a larger public. Even if his last movies were a big flop, I hope Suicide Squad to be a big tournant of the Will Smith’s career. He proved us many times he can act in Ali or Pursuit for Happiness, seeing him play Deadshot can be an accomplishment to his talent and maybe a redemption and a near end (I hope not) of his career.
  1. Mr. Fantastic – Miles Teller (Fantastic Four, 2015)

Why people are thinking she’s a terrible choice :
For beginning the Fantastic Four cast was doomed before he started. The last two movies were quiet good but not a masterpiece, the 2005 movie has a lot of negative reviews so when the movie get reboot, the movie was already “doomed”. Miles Teller hasn’t got a lot of movies to base on for thinking he’s a terrible. Mr. Fantastic has to be a genius, more older, a kind of brother-father for the FF team. Miles Teller don’t have the profile for playing him : he’s too young.

Why he’s the best choice for playing Reed Richards: Despite the fact than Miles Teller was running for the role with Jack O’Connell (Skins) and Kat Harrington (Game of Thrones). Miles Teller has something more than his “rivals”: a clever and geeky look and when we see his performance in Whiplash, we can let him a chance.

---

I don't forget that if we react about casting annoucement it's because we cares about our favorite character. But don't forget to trust in directors and writers of movie. We're living now in a new era of comicbook movies with more superheroes bring on big screen, shared universe, crossovers...

So that was my list and first article in Comicbookmovie.com , do you agree with my list, react on the comment section below. ;)

I don't think Miller likes to be labeled, she's only described herself as queer. But I can't wait to see what she brings to the role.

Smith is the only one I agree with. He'll do fine. While I think Michael B. Jordan will also do fine, I question why they don't think there's a better actor out there that looks more like the comic version of Johnny Storm but whatever.

I'm sure that Will Smith will nail the role as Deadshot, it just depends on the direction he's given and the script. Will Smith is a good actor, he was great in The Pursuit of Happiness and I Am Legend.

I'm looking forward to Gal Gadot's portayal as Wonder Woman, it seems like she is dedicated to the role and she's training physically for the role. I think it's insulting making comments about her size and weight when Wonder Woman is not meant to be the Hulk type.

I have never been sold on Gadot mainly from her acting she wasn't good in the F&F movies maybe she will surprise but from her role there she will be the worst part of the movie. Alongside skinny Steve Jobs type hipster dork that Jesse Eisenberg is making Lex Luthor into but that is a different matter entirely.

Lex Luthor in the comics is like the picture of the ultimate human being. A fine physical specimen blessed with one of the most brilliant minds on the planet with the money and resources to have anything and everything he wants along with an ego larger then his net worth. I just can't see Jesse Eisenberg pulling that off at all. He can pull off that Steve Jobs hipster type billionaire but that is not Lex Luthor so him and Gal Gadot have me worried for this film.

Good article....

I like that you mentioned how fans care about how their characters are represented on the big screen, and that's one of the reasons there's so much enmity towards these casting choices and people don't understand them.

In a lot of cases, why should they.... Especially for Gadot and Miller, they feel like such outside castings. I'm not sold on Gadot at all, mainly because she hasn't sold me on her acting, at all. Maybe that will change in 2015. I really don't like Teller as Reed either, that added to what we've heard about the movie and I'm not sold.

Rudd totally fits for Scott Lang though, not just because of his experience but because it's Rudd. He can totally play an ex-con that the audience can still route for. I know this because I'm a fan of Rudd and I can see him pulling off the role. Also, he's passionate about it, he helped write/revise the screenplay and look at the shape he got into for the role, Rudd has abs!! Haha

The main reason Rudd isn't on this list too, is because we've already seen him in the teaser and my faith for the movie is fully restored. Can't wait for Ant-Man.

So, maybe when we see a trailer for these movies, our opinions will change

@DrKinsolving I haven't put Rudd because people often agree with all Marvel cast. Sincerely I think we should react from the Guardians of the Galaxy or Ant-Man casting by the past. We don't because Marvel always do the right choice from the beginning.

Yeah, Marvel definitely knows how to cast, I have trust in Marvel but their choices make sense too

I can't wait to see Rudd in Ant-Man, the teaser was awesome

Hey do you guys remember when when Michael Keaton and Heath Ledger were going to ruin Batman and Joker? Or when some one was stupid enough to suggest Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man!?

Have not seen too much of Ezra, Miles, and Gal to even judge. I like the photo of Gal in her WW uniform.

My concern with Smith is not even a concern on him, I just hope we get Deadshot and not some new Deadshot version.

I love Jordan as Johnny, my issue is not changing Johnny's ethnicity but the fact they didn't change Sue's ethnicity as well. Yes they were adopted but that was such a major plot twist that making them two different ethnicities guarantees the twist will not happen.

Fun article. A dark horse is Tatum as Gambit. I hate the idea of him as Remy but you never know.

I have faith with Tatum. He's proving himself as an actor. Such a shame that Fox got him before WB/Disney realized his potential.

zedkate - 1/10/2015, 2:14 AM
@MileHighRobin I agree with you, Tatum as Gambit looks weird, I should be Cable. Fox must bring back Taylor Kitch as Gambit like they did for Ryan Reynolds, he was the best part of Wolverine's X-Men Origins.

"5 Actors We Think They'll Suck but Won't, In Future Comicbook Movies !"

Kind of a pretentious title there, seeing how we have yet to see them actually act as the character. Get the point that this is a counter arguement to the many complaints, but it is stooping to that same level.

I guess I should give my view on the hate for these cast decision.

1. Erza Miller
You forget the factor of the CW fans who feel that the DC Cinematic Universe should integrate the shows Arrow and Flash (as well as other network shows) into that movieverse canon. It really comes off as a stupid move on DC/WB part for trying to jam so many characters in one movie to create a universe, when they could of went with a simpler solution like officially saying the shows are part of the same canon as the movies giving the audience the idea that this universe is huge with a lot of heroes.

2. Michael B. Jordan
Ah yes, because everybody who hates the casting choice for Jordan is just racist. It is certainly not the weird fact that only he is black and not his sister, thus eliminating what could of been added ethnicity to the team (especially a chance for added black female heroes in comic book films). Or how he could of been better as Reed Richard seeing how compare to the other three he is more mature than the other two in both looks and characters he play as (for that matter, the male Fantastic Four members should of just did a triple switch in roles).

I won't say MBJ is bad casting, but it is certainly weird as I can envision him as the other two male FF members but not Human Torch . . . yeah, I also think he would of been a better Thing, if the switch ended up having Bell as Mr. Fantastic and Teller as Human Torch.

3. Gal Gaddot
Size. Honestly, it makes more sense for Wonder Woman to be played by an actor with a more thicker build (say like Korra-ish). You can't really blame the fans complaining about her size seeing that she is going to play an Amazonian warrior princess who is commonly portrayed in most of her apperences as being physically superior to her colleagues.

Maybe Gaddot over time built up between the time of her casting and shooting the scenes, so we have to wait and she the final product instead of promotional art. Til then, can't believe they didn't get somebody similar in physique as Jamie Alexander.

4. Will Smith
. . . . . I never heard any complaints about that . . . in fact he is like the only actor in this list who could actually work out well. If anything to worry about with him is if he somehow shoehorns his children into the production of Suicide Squad (Joking, that last point is a joke).

5. Miles Teller
The Michael B. Jordan section covered my view. I just think the three leads should just switch roles with each other and it will be an improvement.

I guess what I am pointing out is that there are some reasonable distaste for the casting of these actors as there are good reasons for such cast. We can't really tell just by physical appearance or acting credentials that they are good for the role, so it is best to wait and see. So I guess it all boils down to the direction they take with the characters.

After all a movie with questionable/shitty casting can turn out a good (if not perfect) thing (Guardians of the Galaxy, Batman, etc); and a movie with good casting and actors with award winning range can turn out into a mess (X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Amazing Spider-Man 2, Iron Man 2 and 3, Daredevil).

@BigK1337 Thanks your comment, I like your list.

When you recast the FF casting, I think the casting Jamie Bell as the thing looks amazing, it should stay like that and I mean they cast him for his talent and not for his look, Bell looks good in Snowpiercer and Nymphomaniac, so his perfermance as the thing, I hope, will be fine.

But don't forget bro, it's my first article and I wanted to bring my opinion on this bad reaction, fans have bringing in the web.

Your point of view is certainly interesting.

Michael B. Jordan is a great actor, but it could be possible that some people are upset since they are breaking from cannon as far as the race. That changes the dynamic (adoptions etc), thus potentially changing the established "family" dynamic. Is that a bad thing? Not necessarily, it could be creative and well done or a train wreck. We'll just have to wait and see. However, claiming everyone who disagrees is because their racist is actually *more* ignorant than an actual racist person, lol.

Just to use an example brought up before. Lets just say they did hire a white actor to play Black Panther, and people got upset. I wouldn't think they were mad because the "actor is white". I'd think they were mad because "Black Panther is black". There is a difference, lol.

People (fans) get touchy about cannon in Superhero movies. Granted, *all* movies take some liberties with cannon. Still, we've all seen what happens when those liberties backfire (X-Men Origins Deadpool anyone?). I believe in the "wait and see" approach, but you shouldn't fault people for being on edge with such changes, and they certainly don't deserve to all be classified as racists. I don't judge you for your opinions, don't judge others for theirs. Cheers!
