Warner Bros. Discovery's CEO David Zaslav recently made it very clear that he plans to make significant changes to the studio's DC Comics-based output, and the DCEU (or whatever you want to call it) is due for a major shake-up.
Zaslav's "10-year plan" includes what he describes a "reset," but that doesn't mean everything we've seen from the Snyder Era on is going to be rebooted.
While speaking to Fandango's Erik Davis about the recent cancellation of Batgirl, The Wrap's Umberto Gonzalez mentioned that Gal Gadot is set to appear as Wonder Woman in several upcoming DC movies. "She's a team player, so I think she's going to be around for a while, I think it's safe to say," he added.
We know Wonder Woman 3 is in the works, and Diana is also expected to show up for a cameo in Shazam! Fury of the Gods. The Flash is another strong possibility, but what about Black Adam? We haven't heard any whispers of a potential WW appearance, but with the movie "due for release," it can't be discounted.
Gadot staying on as Wonder Woman probably won't come as much of a surprise, but it sounds like WBD might be positioning the Amazonian hero to lead the charge of the new DCEU in Batman and Superman's absence. The Dark Knight's future is unclear (the character is currently being played by three different actors), after all, and while Henry Cavill was reportedly contacted with an offer to reprise the role of The Man of Steel, we're hearing that he has very little interest.
Not much is known about Wonder Woman 3, but Lynda Carter is expected to return after making a brief appearance in the mid-credits scene of WW84 as legendary warrior Asteria, who was believed to have been killed when she sacrificed herself in order to allow her fellow Amazons to escape "the tide of man" and settle on the island of Themyscria. Diana donned her golden armor for the final battle against Cheetah.
