WONDER WOMAN Star Gal Gadot Comments On DC Studios Casting A New Superman For The DCU

In an interview which was conducted prior to David Corenswet joining the DCU as its new Superman, Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot weighs in on Henry Cavill being replaced as the Man of Steel. Check it out...

In interviews conducted for Netflix's Heart of Stone shortly before the SAG-AFTRA strike went into effect, Gal Gadot confirmed she will star in a new Wonder Woman movie for DC Studios.

Patty Jenkins isn't expected to direct that after James Gunn and Peter Safran decided the threequel wouldn't fit into their vision for the DCU, and there's currently no word on its place in the wider "Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters" slate.

Gadot is one of only a handful of DCEU actors reprising their roles in the new DCU, with a new Batman and Superman cast in place of Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill.

The latter has already been replaced by David Corenswet, while Rachel Brosnahan is the new Lois Lane.

Talking to ComicBook.com, Gadot was asked about Cavill's time as the Man of Tomorrow reaching its end. She chose her words carefully but seemed excited for the actors who were in the running to star in Superman: Legacy at the time this interview took place.

"I saw that they were testing, doing different screen tests, but I don’t know who got it, but it seemed like everyone was super legit and talented and, like, great," she says. "So I’m happy for them."

"It’s such a huge take-on and it’s such an exciting beginning to any actor, and I wish whoever it’s going to be the best of luck and enjoy the ride."

All signs currently point to Gadot's Wonder Woman sharing the screen with Corenswet and the next Batman. Ray Fisher is highly unlikely to return as Cyborg, while Ezra Miller's time as Barry Allen is surely over after the response to The Flash. Jason Momoa, meanwhile, is expected to swap Aquaman for Lobo.

As a result, Gadot will be the only original Justice League cast member in the DCU, an intriguing move on DC Studios' part. Whether casual moviegoers will find this confusing remains to be seen, particularly as The Flash failed to reset this shared world as promised.

Henry had to move on, same with Affleck and they'll be just fine. Gal on the other hand lol sheesh, to make it in Hollywood, nepotism or pure beauty shoots you to the top. Staying there is the trick lol

@bobevanz - Let’s not pretend Cavill gets booked because of his skill, or lack thereof, as an actor

@bobevanz - I think Gal has charisma and got to show it in the DC movies more than Cavill did.

@dagenspear - It was an obvious allusion to length of time until the movie gets released, not literally being a grandparent.

Your retort really isn't one, because there's no confirmation or even word about Iron Man getting a new movie in the MCU.

@EskimoJ - I know.

Robert Downey Jr. was about 40 when Iron Man came out. I was referring to then.

oh boo hoo wah wah. she is a perfect wonder woman. i dont have a problem with her staying. maybe they move her to hippolyta and someone else as diana. who knows. i trust gunn's plan and that he has a vision that will be awesome. its either trust him or be disgruntled for the next two years until the first movie hits under his watch. i choose optimism, being a crybaby about shit you dont control before it even comes out to properly judge is LAME. but what ev. this universe is gone. he will just start from scratch and not even mention snyderstuff after flash. he can reuse actors and still tell that story. its simple. i dont understand why people dont get that concept.

Fisher was banned from Warner, and the only reason why Ezra isnt coming back is because of how hard The Flash bombed, other than that, they wanted to keep all the actors...except for Henry Cavill...I legit wonder why is that?
